One thing that I wish more people knew about is how close Main2 is to most of the suggestions that keep appearing in this thread and others. It may be that it is not advertised enough but there only seems to be a few that actually use it. Here are a few things that people may not know about Agharta.

1. There are no spawner traps allowed. The only possible way to farm spawners is to build around a mine or dungeon and farm like we used to when Minecraft was new.

2. There are not huge swathes of land under protection (Except for Shamballah, of course) and there is plenty of land available.

3. There are only two kits and many of the perks available on Main carry over.

4. It is pretty close to survival as there are very few players and you are left to your own devices to survive. Taran, Ohten, and I died multiple times when the server opened from starvation and mobs until we were able to find food.

5. MTC carry over but tangible items do not resulting in an almost completely isolated economy.

6. You create your own protections. This uses the plugin with the golden shovel.

It was proposed before that Main would eventually become "locked" to all new players. I fully support that and a move to Agharta. There is plenty of room around spawn in Agharta and it is huge, but orderly. You can easily stay in the area around spawn or you can go out in the wilds or find a town. There are several admins and mods that have towns on the server and I have seen a few player towns appearing on the world map. It will be much much more difficult for people to build enormous structures and cities since they have to mine or contract out for materials. Since Main will never be wiped as stated by Sawine in the Newsfeed, a move to Main2 only makes sense. The server that many people seem to want has been here since it was publicly released on 14 Oct 12.

No need to destroy or any of the work that probably thousands have built on Main or reset anything. All very valid points problem is people are unwilling to switch as long as main is around cause they don't want to "start over". As sawine stated main will always be around and not reset.

So in essence one is defeating the other and vice versa.

Well this went crazy fast...

Basic suggestions I see is:

Revamp of spawn

Map reset

Removal of spawners

Removal/wipe of MTC

Basically a total restart of MT... I'm pretty sure you guys have lost your mind now lol

Your talking about starting all over again.

The idea of WE players stuff into a new map... Unrealistic.

Removing all spawners... Also unrealistic and many people would leave, that's more people leaving

A complete and utter map reset... Some would see it as a positive 'fresh start' others see it as a punishment. Having to start all over again after the hours they put into mt, leaving them asking why start again= they leave.

Basically the underlying problem of MT Is that it's so old. The map is outdated and overcrowded, the economy has developed into an unstable mess the older players have gotten bored of mc in general. And in affraid we cannot change that.

A complete and utter reset of Minetown (which is what's being suggested) would probly mean the death of MT. But the same story with doing nothing.

That is incorrect. The general consensus is:

Revamp of Spawn, and it's expansion.

Removal of Spawners (not naturally generated via dungeon ones, but rather player created ones).

Removal/wipe of MTC and reversion back to Diamond/Gold/Iron Trading currency.

Map reset was listed as a "last resort only", and that sawine himself said map reset would never happen, to which I personally agree with.

Just a question, no need to comment, its a yes or no question, when you guys say map reset do you mean anything outside of the main spawn are a total remake of the actual Mine town?
Based on the posts, it would appear to be a complete and total restart... everything from scratch (Main map that is).

I just hope it doesn't come to that.
I'm going to say it right now, MOST DEFINITELY NOT. not trying to start something but i think removing anything outside of main town is fine, but deleting main town is the worst possible idea unless you have and idea creative and cool enough to be an eye catcher just like the current town is.

I'm talking schematic/architectural wise.
Replace all the stone on main with pink wool.
I think that going thru the map and //regen ing area that are old, sorta "freshening up" areas wouldnt be a bad idea, I thin that removing the whole spawner market would be helpful, it would prevent lag and fix the market even more
