regarding this, I feel that the top 1% has the same amount of money as the bottom 90%. I know this is off topic, but the Great depression was caused by the top 0.1% of the population earing as much as the bottom 50%. The solution to the economy was to even out the income. Give the money to the poor.

To compare Minetown's economy with a real-life situation such as the Great Depression doesn't necessarily mean answers to solve one are found in another. The Great Depression was fixed as a result of the required war-time production efforts caused by America's involvement in World War II. This had been the jump start we were looking for. Also, to take from the rich and give to the poor may even everyone out, but for how long? MTC is not the only form of currency and there is a way to earn infinite amounts of it as it is through online voting. The issue with the other currencies such as diamonds was that people had so many and sold them to those who had so few at lower prices, knowing that they could empty their reserves to add to their wealth. As a result, everyone else followed, thus lessening the overall value of the diamond and bringing gold down with it.

Point taken, but after this fluctuation, where are all the diamonds other than the one at full price? We can learn a lot from real life, and one lesson to be learned is that you cant sell something cheap forever without losing money.

What's to say it wouldn't happen again if all diamond sales were forced back up to the CS price? As long as the supply is high, it's not hard to gradually lower your prices to entice the "audience" of players. In addition, unlike real-life, where if you purchase a supply of items, sell them for less and don't sell enough you WILL lose money, Minetown doesn't penalize you for not selling your stock. Therefore, it's not possible to "lose" money since you can take your stock out and reclaim it rather then buy it from a weekly source. The only means I see where this is different is if your diamond supply comes from the sale of MTC for diamonds, however, this becomes a somewhat endless cycle that is interrupted only if you cut the stock of one.
Add something original.

Now hear me out on this; this is a very difficult thing to do but might bring traffic back in. I suggest you take a team of coders, and make a plugin that is entirely original, something people will be hard-pressed to find anywhere else, like but in ghosts, to where when you die, the player is a ghost, which needs to be revived, i think that would add a good layer of co-op, so one person couldn't just run out there, but might have to slow down for a bit, and possibly bring a friend to the mix. This also helps with the consumption of items. I don't know if everyone feels this, but I am stacking up on items, too many to handle. So I think it may be a good idea to make a structure for every time someone dies, they could be revived with that somehow. People might think twice about PvP, ultimately coding the rage-quits in half. And might bring a bit of suspense in "How long will it take me/my friend to get revived?". And if both of them died, they could bring more people to revive them, or ally with others. This is only a suggestion for more co-op play style, and could possibly bring more traffic.
Are we gonna see the castle siege server anytime soon. I can see that being very popular.
Dwarven Realm!
