Also note that the nether is an expanding world just like the main world. Building a camp in some relatively barren section of he main world hen building a nether portal (pe required to light of course..) is a great way to get to some of the lesser explored regions in the nether, where the glowstone and netherbrick abound..

The nether/mainworld link is 128 blocks. You need obsidian and a PE (request for light with flint) to make the nether portal.

Currently, you can actually use flint&steel to light stuff (and have been able to since 1.2.3 or so), so long as you're not spamming/abusing it. With firespread off, it's not so much the problem it once was.

(Of note, people seem like they *love* to spam flint and steel, so we might settle on some other method to allow players to light their own things in the long run. We still have to keep an eye on it so that it's not being used for harassment, but please feel free use it for portals and such or lighting a few blocks of netherrack without having to wait on a PE)

You are correct that i do not enjoy everything i do every minute of every day in real life. But this isnt real life. This is a game. I DID NOT state that I only do things I enjoy. I also DID NOT state that I choose to not gather resources. I DID say that I spend as little time in the nether as possible and that I avoid it. I think the nether is ugly and is a generally poor design job and is more of an eyesore and really is minecraft hell as far as I am concerned. That is my opinion. Some have the opinion that the nether is great. I am happy they like it. I do not.

Find it as difficult as you would like but it is almost true. I do like receiving recognition even if it is just a pat on the back or I like the gratification that comes from the completed project and then seeing people enjoy that project. You can not safely make the leap from just wanting to build to only wanting to do SP creative. I can build the whole world in SP but I get no fun out of finishing something that will never be used, appreciated, or enjoyed by others. For my purposes SP creative is for development while SMP is a final product location. Where I am happy to build it for free.

I did spend time. Gathering soul to make glow. Until I knew about the conversion ability I would go into the nether and find the glow I needed. I would hate every second of it because I do not enjoy the nether as previously stated. I know the glow is there. This DOES NOT ruin the game as I previously stated. This DOES limit the build capability because now an excess of time is spent in an area I loathe, trying to find an item that is less than abundant but certainly findable, and therefore i am spending less time building.

Thank you very much for giving the best short clarification of the change that has actually occurred. The plug in being changed to have glass become glow is rather crippling to those that make intricate red circuits. This being the case... it should absolutely be disabled if it can not be converted back somehow.

Once again I DID NOT state that I would no longer deal with the market. I DID say that I will not be getting involved in the economy of minetown "anymore than necessary".

In the future please do not say I have said things that I did not in order to try and berate me. I wont let it slide and while I can not actually do anything more than respond you will continue to make yourself look like a rather less than quality and unintelligent individual.
