[Enjin Archive] Skyblock Server Feedback and Suggestions

Not sure its poss, but a cool elite level quest or 100+ island lvl islands reward would be to allow neighbors to build on each others islands (If owner wants) without joining the island and loosing thier own so we could eventually work on towns? Though the more I think of it we can do that if we build our boarders to each other so maybe thats not all that needed LOL
In all honesty, with the contest, there were a lot of tree spammers out there who grew trees at the last minute to get ahead. I won't name any people, but thats unfair and ridiculous. They need to be disqualified :/
I don't know if this was directed at me in particular since my tree spamming was perhaps the most epic, but we all spammed in one way or another, come on. I know you spammed cobble pillars before, and so did a lot of other people once Spazz and I realized how to do it... As for the contest, though, there was never a no block spamming clause... I think perhaps blocks like leaves and vines shouldn't count toward the score though, which would make tree spamming ineffective other than for getting wood which can be used to build things
Nate - we also had folks pouring lava / cobble and tree spamming since Skyblock came online - those who waited until the last day to grow trees do not deserve to be singled out or DQ'd.

I leveled my island evenly since day one, but on the last day of the competition I made sure to have my tree farm up and planted to the fullest useful extent. Trees and EVERY other block count as levels, that was easy to identify on Day 1. My opinion is absolutely any block can be used to gain levels and that seems fair enough to me. I admit I was offset a bit by people making cobble towers until I learned that only the first 10k blocks of Cobble give points towards a level. I prefer not to use 10k blocks of cobble, but to each his own.

With the cobble pillars, like you did, i'm using those to get under my island now to make a area for slimes. And its not directed at you mostly, but somewhat yes.

Ok but what about the people who actually put time into their island, building outward and under to up their level. You're saying that playing unfairly is the way to go, because that's how i'm hearing it.
Since it was clear the winner will be based on LEVEL, and the very nature of Skyblock does not prevent you from leveling your island with any method you wish - I cannot hold it against those who chose to follow the leveling objective. That said, I do see your point and agree with it to some extent. In the end, no rules disallowed you from leveling your island how you wanted and a day after the event is no time to question rules or suggest DQ'ing people for using non-abusive tactics to obtain their objective.

At first, I was upset that folks were using cobble/lava to gain levels, so I discussed it with an admin. What it comes down to are these two factors: meeting the OBJECTIVE and making your island look the way you want (nice and pretty, or full of cobble tower crap). This competition was to see who could level the most - that is a clearly defined objective. In consolation, I can offer that I heard we may have a beautiful island contest in the future - and I'm looking forward to it!!

To reply to your insinuation that I personally did not put time and effort towards my island - you are very wrong. I put tons of time and work into making my island look great from any angle. I went with a nice efficient, well designed island and I have enjoyed every minute of it so far - needless to say, I will be returning to enjoy and expand my island frequently. If you would like to view the fruits of my labor, send me a tell in game and I'll throw you a tour teleport.
Hmm, so people are telling me that I keep auto-joining upon afk.. Thing is I have no such mods on my vanilla minecraft... Does FTB/tekkit mess with the original minecraft by any chance? I have no idea what else it could be.. o_O
I have found an official bug, if you complete a challenge and you inventory is full you do not get the prizes. You get cobblepoints but not any dirt, spawn eggs, ect. I currently have lost 5 ink sacs and 1 ocelot spawn egg like this.

How, exactly, is this a bug? If I walked up to you and threw an ocelot egg at you, you wouldn't pick it up either. This should go without saying, but make sure you have inventory space if you are completing a challenge that rewards items.
for the block spammer arguement that seems to be going around, doesnt matter, the pretty island challenge is getting better prizes anyway.
