This is part of Planet Earth's natural cycle. There have been droughts that have lasted for thousands of years, similarly I'm sure you've heard of the Ice Age. It's all natural.
You totally missed the joke. I had to do some seriously sketchy math to make it. I have got to start being less obscure with my humour. When was this server started? Sitting back and waiting for the groans.
my thoughts...

someone is going to be speckled and make something happen...using that date as a coincidence to freak everyone out...

mayan calendar just ended...it also doesnt incorperate leap years, or the solar calendar..it was a lunar calendar...thus the date technically passed about 9 months ago if i remember correctly...
