Yeah Mayans predicted the end of the universe...but not the Spanish. It's all tomfoolery chicken little bullshit.
What Slurth said.
Ceasar made the leap year: --> Conspericy Theory Assumed the Leap Year ---> End of World was actually scheduled ---> Wait, that's wrong.. Solar Year is 365.24219878 days, not 365.25 . . --> When is the next leap-leap year? --> What, but John Cusak is never wrong --> Fin.
Resulting conclusion: Yay!!!! We made it !!

There have been about 514 Leap Years since Caesar created it in 45BC. Without the extra day every 4 years, it would already be past the year 2013. Also, the Mayan calendar did not account for leap year... so technically the world should have ended about about a year. Cya.
Global warming is a sign of it. Hottest winter ever. It snowed in places it never has before...just face it the end is near.
Climate change on a planet that has always had major climate changes? Yes, surely the end of all things is upon us.
The Mayans didn't account for leap years 1300 of them minus the 52 that fall at 100 year increments. The event happened roughly 3.3 years prior to the prescribed date....we just never noticed. Probably somewhere close to September 2010. :)
I might also add that the light from the stars that we see at night have been travelling for millions of years. The position of those stars is not the same as we see them. Also, some of those stars we see are long dead. Even our own sun is 500 light seconds behind.
