[Enjin Archive] Guest Control
Started by [E] Coffeey

Yea, we will come up with a solution to handle guest chat soon.

A lot of things mentioned in this thread are either impossible to achieve or irrelevant to the actual problem.

To keep it short; Hardware is out of the question, all lag issues are from: minecraft / bukkit / plugins (And yes, we are always running the latest builds of everything and customize everything we can to make it better.)

The upcoming release of minecraft in the next days should fix (and break) a bunch of stuff, but in overall it will improve the game performance a lot.
Still annoying when there are 150000000 guests all saying 'how do I be unguested?'

Someone says the answer and then they carry on!
i agree

SLIGHT exaggeration there!

However I think guests should have their own separate chat.
i think we should have a area where all guests start and it runs them through the basics instead of "hey i joind minetown.net why i no promote?" and stuff that like or "y i cant build!?" Ect.
I dont think this makes much sence,I mean yeah guests are annoying, but how will they know what to do,I say if they keep on asking when you know they know the awnser then jail them or somethin,I mean It would be alot less fun for the guests if they had no communication with other tha themselves
How original, opress the minorities
i agree, that would make the guests SO much less annoying if there were signs at spawn
there is thats the problem, from what i guess most dont even read them ><object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f610.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":|">:|</object>

Ok... please note that the way Minecraft 1.8.1 is coded, every additional player over 60 will start decreasing the server tick (which is equivalent to the server clock / response time) There is nothing we can do about it.

So to Summarize, if there are over 60 players on, skip mining, clearing or any other manipulative minecraft activity.

I am really glad you explained this limitation of the current release, it helps a lot to make it clear that the issue is with the minecraft software and NOT our fabulous server!

As for the guest issues, my vote would be for an /ignore guest switch if possible, so regular members could actually carry on a conversation.

Thank you Sawine, and all our admins and mods for the excellent WORK you do to keep US PLAYING.
