[Enjin Archive] Revival Idea for the FTB Server.
Started by [E] Nanakisan

I've been involved as a beta tester for the new official Ampz modpack from Universal Electricity. Let me tell you there is lots and lots of fun destructive goodies in that modpack.

1st off before someone comes in here and talks about the Voltz pack on the technic launcher.....let me clear something up. Voltz is and still is outdated to high heaven. It runs 1.4.5 versions of the UE MP along with a server plugin system called MCPC+. Because of this there are massive duplication bugs involving the pack in general. I have personally overseen the bugs in all of the new Ampz pack on the FTB launcher and let me tell you.

The UE Team has done some INCREDIBLE work fixing the bugs as they came out. New mods were added and some forms of automation were intrroduced to make it more interesting. Currently till the 1.6 update for all of the other FTB mods. Ampz is the only MP currently at 1.5.2. It is remarkably stable right now. Some major quirks have been fixed. If anyone would like to have a idea of what you can do in the mod. Just ask me. One of the major improvements performed was the config option to disable crafting of certain explosives. Should a server not want full scale nuclear war.

Ampz in general actually adds meaning to the whole MC experience. Things are harder to do then in FTB-Ultimate. It actually challenges you against other players and nature itself.
I am currently creating a FTB Ultimate server that should be up for testing in a day or so, With the server that i am bringing up it will have full mod support including the ability to LWC lock anything with an inventory or that can be interacted with. With your experience in working with these mods I hope to look forward to you beta testing the server.

The Ampz pack does look like it is really well done the only issue that I have with it the lack of some of the major mods that have decided to wait until 1.6 to update.

I might be interested in looking at running a second server though with the Ampz pack as it seems to be quite stable and well thought out.
If it helps Sayomie i actually helped run and maintain forge servers. So i'll be happy to stress test the daylights out of the server. Also may i make one suggestion? If you are to go the route of wanting to protect spawn. Please for all things holy use Forge Essentials. Not the Essentials counterpart that works through Bukkit Forge. FE has the unique ability to prevent 90% of all issues you wish to avoid at spawn.

Worldguard though it works with BukkitForge doesn't have 100% mod block protection. Also with LWC i actually approve of that. If LWC proves to not work. There is always the alternative of Lockette. I used it on another server once. It functioned beautifully as long as you assigned the id's properly.
Currently I am running MCPC+ as from what I have seen it seems to have the highest level of compatibility with most plugins out there. It seems to work quite well with most mods as well. MCPC+ also has a custom version of LWC that removes the errors when using it on modded servers.
I do hope the MCPC+ people actually fixed a lot of the dupe bugs.....back in voltz 99% of all voltz servers even the official ones had to ban specific objects because mcpc+ made duping of them incredibly possible.
When the beta testing starts one the major things that will be looked into will be the dupe bugs, Hopefully any that exist can be fixed but if there are to many then it is always worth looking into another plugin system.
Duping isn't against the ftb server rules. The canvas bag dupe is the famous bug that was never fully patched. the rule may have changed, but i don't think it did

...If it was not against them before it is now, Minetown in general has always had a anti dupe policy.
Thank you for making this official. This was not in the rules anywhere many many many people do it. I sent 4 messages to separate staff with no response. I absolutely hate it when I am not herd. I figured publicly announcing it will get it some publicity.

Edit: If you are going to make it against the rules. please change the relevant threads on the forums and the /rules ingame. Otherwise I see no reason why anyone should follow an unlisted rule.
When I bring the server out of beta and into full release I will be re-writing the rules ans such.
