[Enjin Archive] FTB News and bug report thread
Started by [E] Italy08

there doesnt seem to be a problem with the buildcraft version i think it was just the way TEKKIT rushed out a newer version <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/2639.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":(">:(</object>

bearing in mind buildcraft for 1.2.5 (tekkit) is version 2.-.-.- , where as FTB buildcraft is version 3.-..-.- ......

so the bugs in tekkit version should be not be there in FTB version <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>
wawon0, please go to the first page of this thread and re-read everything. As stated iunno how many times, the server is on creative mode for testing, nothing is disabled yet

We are currently testing the buildcraft that is included in the mod pack. It is a newer version and I will need to talk to Sayomie and see if it is still causing the same problems.
Some worlds have decay which causes a lot of problems.

If a player stays there too long it crashes the player's minecraft. The decay spreads and once the server is active and live there will be a constant stream of players meaning the decay will constantly be spreading. Could we remove the decay? D:

Another is one of the worlds I visited had meteors... they would smash into the world and create massive holes. You'd see a meteor every 1-2 mins and more occurring when there were more players. The meteors themselves were very cool to see hit the world in the distance but is there a way to disable the world damage? Or just remove the meteors entirely.
i think meteors only spawn in ages that are created by players ie not the overworld, so i wouldnt mind having them enabled
I'm fine with them being enabled and killing players, I just dont like the damage they do to the world they're in <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/2639.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":(">:(</object>
unfortunatly thats apart of mystecraft (i think thats how you spell it) <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/2639.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":(">:(</object> along with the decay (its a sorta punishment system for creating a failed world... ) <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/2639.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":(">:(</object>

But yeah the meteors also crash the players client if they are right by it... or it atleast did for me... <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/2639.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":(">:(</object>
I've never had decay crash my client 0-o, just when a meteor strikes close, also the decay only spreads if the player is in that world, and is meant to eat up the world as most of them are considered "unstable" and can only be entered when using the one book the world was created in. The decay is an amazing feature in my opinion~
decay starts to crash me after 15-30mins, all the block conversions and block falling (any block above a decay block will fall into the decay like sand and get destroyed) cause my client to 'run ut of memory'. but yeah youre right, it only affects loaded chunks
This is the first I am hearing of decay crashing people. Dannyboy and I sat in a decaying world for about an hour just to see how fast it spreads (It was fast). As for turning it off it kinda defeats the point of mystcraft to get rid of the instabilities each world may have. There are a lot of benefits for exploring but with that comes risks. I will take a player quite some time and lots of testing to get ages to be without instabilities.

As far as the meteors go I will have to disable them until the 1.4.5 patch is released. I crash in 1.4.4 with meteors but not with 1.4.5. Meteor worlds can be quite exciting since each strike deposits ores where it hit. This can include easy to reach diamonds.

Also check your options tab and see if you can increase the ram for the client. Don't know if it will help but its worth a try <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object> I'm running my client on 16gb and have yet to experience crashing due to the decay.

Public Notice:

When we go live with FTB its your responsibility to insure you can return to the overworld. This means always have a linking book and a spare LB in a chest when you get in the world. This insures that if you die and lose your items you can still return to the overworld.
What version are we using 1.4.2 or 1.4.5, and is the still a whitelistm, because i get the bad login error
