The only real way to test if Mystcraft is gonna cause problems is to gather a group of people to spam books for a while. Glad to see we're giving this modpack a good testing.
Are things like Hydras and nukes gonna get disabled? Because those definitely roughen up the landscape....
So I made a portal in the nether to get back to the main world, and after several attempts of leaving through it, minecraft crashes altogether. Wwen I log in again, I am back in the nether. The console outputted the following:

As for the nether portal crash, other people have had this problem in Minecraft and it seems like a problem with java running out memory. Try increasing the amount of RAM allocated to FTB in the options tab of the launcher.

Nah, no good, cranked it up to 2.5 gigs and still it dies the instant I touch the portal... This did not happen with any other portal travel but nether-->main

Hey Jimbo,
I'm Pretty Sure I Know How To Fix This... So Without Further Ado...
From That Report I See You Are Running Java Version "1.7.0_09" You Need To Downgrade "1.6.0_37" To Run TB, You Can Do This By The Following:
1. Open Terminal, Loated In The 'Utilities' Folder.
2. Enter This Command, Then Press The Return Or Enter Key:
Code:
sudo mkdir -p /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/disabled
3. Next, Enter This Command, Then Press The Return Or Enter Key:
Code:
sudo mv /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/disabled
4. Then, Enter This Command, Then Press The Return Or Enter Key:
Code:
sudo ln -sf /System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Resources/JavaPlugin2_NPAPI.plugin /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin
5. Finally, Enter This Command, Then Press The Return Or Enter Key:
Code:
sudo ln -sf /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Commands/javaws /usr/bin/javaws
After You've Done Those Steps, You Java Should Be At "1.6.0_37". You Can Check By Typing The Following Into Terminal:
Code:
java -version
Cross Reference What Terminal Says With This Website; http://javatester.org/version.html
If They Are The Same, And Both Showing "1.6.0_37", You Should Be Good To Go.
Hope This Helps <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>.

W. O. W. Leo, I'll try it when I get to my computer later, I saw that on the FTB forums but no one had the Mac way
Guys time to grow up and stop with the nukes....
This is meant for testing not to see how much of the map you can destroy with nukes. If it continues I will be forced to take the server down and do the testing behind closed doors.
Thanks,
Italy

I think he said earlier that buildcraft was screwing up the old server with lag or crashes or something like that, so that it won't be used any more...
