[Enjin Archive] Toshiba + Minecraft = ?
Started by [E] MasterJack

I've had my Toshiba Satellite C660-21D Laptop for quite a while now...

It's a great laptop, but, it will not run Minecraft <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/2639.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":(">:(</object>

The laptop itself has an Intel Core i3 Processer, whether this is relevant or not idk <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f61b.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":p">:p</object>

It does not have a dedicated graphics card.

When I attempt to run Minecraft.exe, it comes up with the usual;

Finishes, then turns black and crashes <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/2639.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":(">:(</object>

Of course, this leaves me a java crash report, which is complete gibberish to me....

It does download some of Minecraft, but not all...

yes, my laptop is called Barry;D

Anybody know why this happens, or how to fix it? <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

Thanks for your help! <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f600.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":d">:d</object>

Do you have a modded .jar as in you had it as a .zip file and added mod files to it? I had it quit during the updating process until I had the untouched original jar from another computer put into the folder. Try to copy your entire folder from another computer to yours and try to update.
That sounds more like a java error than a computer error.

But I suck with computers so I could be wrong...
Yeah, sounds like a java issue. Try going to http://www.java.com and update your java. If that doesn't help, it might be a problem with your video card. Update your drivers here: http://toshiba-asia.com/sg/support/drivers/details/3008494

Hope this helps!

Nop, I am trying to install Minecraft onto my laptop, clean and fresh! No minecraft files existed before the download, and I downloaded straight from the Official Game... <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

I'll try these things and report back! <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

I updated my Java to Version 7 Update 7 <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

And updated my drivers to the most recent (August 2011).

I'm pretty sure I installed them right, but Minecraft still crashes <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/2639.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":(">:(</object>

Any Ideas?

Cheers <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f44d.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":thumb:">:thumb:</object>
This most definitely is not your computer.

I looked up the error code, and it seems that LWJGL is the issue. Try following this tutorial here, and see if it works. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Tutorials/Update_LWJGL

Im saying it has nothing to do with your computer being a toshiba, it possibly has something to do with Java.
