I have a Toshiba, and even though I really don't like it, it seems like a java problem more than a computer issue.

This most definitely is not your computer.

Im saying it has nothing to do with your computer being a toshiba, it possibly has something to do with Java.

I looked up the error code, and it seems that LWJGL is the issue. Try following this tutorial here, and see if it works. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Tutorials/Update_LWJGL

Has minecraft worked on this computer before? If so, why not do a system restore to that point, then update everything again?

x32 or x64 OS? 64 bit Java has many known bugs, so it is recommended you completely uninstall all Java installations, install x32, then install x64 on top of that. Seeing as how it is an i3, it should be 64.
