And thus we learn the dangers of the comoddity exchange services... recall fish in the 1.2.3 update were at a premium.. it is a pure economy, let it ride.. Let the market work, if diamonds are devalued, then players should request payment in a form they do value: i.e. i want spawners, i have enchanted picks... maybe there is something to work out here... We just need to be willing to leave our comfort zone for trading and place value in what we need rather than in some arbitrary measure like dia, gold or MTC. if we do this, the stabilization will occur much faster, then dia will again climb in value and some will start trading in them again...
Simple solution:
Buy all the damn diamond you can find and horde it.
Buy all the damn diamond you can find and horde it.
Oddly enough.. Millenium City will never be effected by the Minetown economy. It never has in the past either.
The reason, is that Millenium City does NOT use MTC for anything. It's an illegal currency which has no place in our trade system, which is strictly regulated at 10 iron > 1 gold bar; 3 gold bar > 1 Diamond, the standard rate as enforced via the Minetown bank... Hell, Millenium City kept trading with this value system even when others were not.
Furthermore, Millenium City is Socialist based, we collect and share our resources, including wood, netherbrick, brick, logs, stone, netherrack and redstone, with the city to build with as we see fit. Members do trade between themselves, however we prefer to simply share what we have equally to ensure our success.
Therefore, any wiping of data that would harm Millenium City's Progress, is something we are completely opposed to.

You have it all wrong. Sure, maybe we should try to pay attention to the future, but we also have to, no doubt, pay attention to the present. The diamond is getting better, I saw one shop selling diamond for 20mtc. They went out of business and other shops use 25mtc or 30mtc.
Okay, maybe the iconomy is bad, but this is not a new thing for our world. Please, something as stupid as this could ruin towns and will probably make users leave MineTown.

No Offense To Anyone...But Guys, There Are Some Old Members/Staff Here...ME, I Have Been Here Over A Year Here And Almost All Of It As Staff...Just About ALL Old Members And Staff Can Agree That The Economy Goes Up And Down... IT Has Been So Low ...I Think Back In June or July...It Was REALLY Bad...Well It Eventually Picked Back Up...Why? Because Everyday, Almost Hundreds Of New People Apply On This Server And Lots Leave As Well...So The People Making SOOOO Much Bank Will Eventually Lose Interest OR Whatever That They Get Bored And Leave...It Happens And If We Try To Stop That...Well ...Yeah We Would Lose ALOT Of Our Dedicated Members Who Make MT Where It IS Now! I Think It Is Fine...If People Really Don't Like It, Mine All Of Your Materials...SOLVED There Is Plenty Of Open Land Out There So Go Find A Spot...Need Help Finding A Spot? Ask Someone...We Are Here To Help...Good Luck!
I know I've proposed possible solutions to this but I do in fact think the economy should be left alone. Virtual or not, tampering in a free market economy by the "government"(staff) might provide a temporary fix but down the road couldn't lead to much good. It will correct itself through natural adjustments. Inflation happens unfortunately. Look at how rapidly the dollar has lost buying power over the last 100 years. In 1992 when I was born 61 cents could buy what a dollar does today. That may not seem like a big increase but in fact it is nearly a 64% change. The fact is the diamond will probably never reach where it once was and people are going to have to live with that.
there are more shop using diamonds and gold than shop using credits... just saying. btw diamonds is the only stable value bacouse they actualy have a real use. diamonds are one of those things that just cant loose all its value --__--
btw i can agree with choco (im a 13 months+ member). the economy goes up and down all the time...

Personally, I never approved of MTC. I preferred it when it was only diamond/gold. I mean, I even remember when the lottery used gold for rewards (won 3 times). I wish some things didn't change.
If you wipe my stuff... I will seriously wipe your face...
And Johan and Nate- In my shops I try and offer the option to pay in credits and gold, maybe you should try that <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f609.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=";)">;)</object>

To think we went a month without someone trying to re-initiate the same exact plan to "make the server better." Time is the ONLY cure. You want to talk about the future? Look at supply vs demand. When their supply runs out but demand is relatively the same, prices need to rise. In addition, the implementation of MTC allows for a slight decrease of value over time, since you can vote daily. But, this decrease is negligible due to the fact everyone wants spawners. Diamond value has not changed. You can't base it off mtc if mtc is not the main currency we use. What's our main currency? Diamonds/gold/iron. Mainly gold, and now more diamond prices. MTC is merely a convenience currency, nothing more. I don't feel like going deeper into explanation due to the fact this is the fourth or fifth time I've seen this EXACT idea on a thread.
