My point proven. Sure, out of all the older players (people who are familiar with most of all of the commands in game), they would use party chat and still remain social-able with many different people. However... what about all the new people? They won't have anyone. They'd be stuck with other new players, who also don't know how to use the commands. End result: Our server quality decreases. You can't reject this theory, as it is most probable.

You forget that all people would have to do is /ch g and they would be back in local. For example if i was in a party of 6 and only I was on then id be in local. Also what you said most likely wouldnt happen because ive used group chat before on minetown and most of the negative things you are saying will happen dont happen.
If your concerned about noobs not knowing commands they will be able to teach each other and remember players could still easily do /ch l
