Ok people. Get your stuff together. I have been very patient with you all while you try to fix the lag. Enough is enough. I did not pay $100 on a game that I can not play. If you do not have the knowledge to fix the problem, just admit it and get some help. You are obviously doing something wrong. There are alot of other servers out there that house over 250+ players at one time that have zero lag. I am trying to do something as simple as walk and i can only walk at a pace of one block every 30 seconds. I am sick of hearing that it is being worked on. or that there is nothing that can be done. That is all bull and you know it. We are not dumb. Someone posts a thread about the lag and the owners and admin work on it for a day and then we hear nothing until the next complaint post. Do you all just not care? There are alot of great players on here and we all love to play this game together. That is the only reason that we have not left this server as of right now.

As of right now. I will not be donating anymore money. And this server will not get any more of my votes until things change. I will also encourage others to do the same. It seems that the players have more care for the server than the staff. If the staff doesn't know how to fix things than they should not be staff. Simple as that.
I'm still experiencing the same issues too, doesn't seem to matter where I am on the map. We tried to help fix lag on our side by dismantling our automatic sorting machine and constructing a manual storage room, but now often you wait 20 seconds to open a chest there. I for one run a fairly fast computer, and have no internet issues while doing anything except for playing this server. I too have donated $100 to the server to help support the server's growth and health, yet our money seems to not be put to use to allow more memory to operate the maps.

I already have not been up-voting due to the same issue. Agreed that little communication to the player community has occurred.
we are quite aware of the issue ourselves, and we understand the frustration (believe me, i have it too sometimes...a lot of times...) but please do realize that some things that need to be done only a few key staff members can approve, allow, make happen, or do. Most of the staff here do not have access to console, plugins, or anything that they could do to instafix (or insta derp) things. With the number of plugins we run, alongside several other factors that give us a lot of grief (especially our new host lately and the host before that...and the host before that...im noticing a trend in poor hosts lately...), we are kinda stuck in the middle of all this.

I personally apologize for the distress you are receiving and offer you some pepto bismol to help relieve the indigestion and gassiness (j/k...trying for some comedic relief here...if this dun do it for you, surprise humpings for you!)

But to the point:

yes, we know there is an issue

yes, we know it is an unacceptable issue

yes, we are trying many things to alleviate the issues

yes, communication is happening regularly, but we cannot go on a player by player detail trip of every single thing we are doing

no, we are not going to get rid of staff because they dont know how to do the admin side stuff (hell, if that was the case i woulda been gone looong ago...), and if you are so strong for this, i will be the first to step down and let things fall to rubble because you cannot give a damn about how hard some of our staff actually does work to keep this going (completely on volunteer basis i might add)

If you feel you shouldnt be donating, dont. If you feel you shouldnt be voting dont. but try to provide some more helpful critique if you know how to make it better rather than just slapping us in the face with insult and slander...cause i do know a solution to fix it all, but most players would rather have the lag than pulling the plug on servers and nuking plugins/worlds and going mostly vanilla.

PS - i dun hate any of yall. Im just trying to make a point that you should think about how you present issues.
From the community: Shut up.

As Zio stated, there are problems that most likely won't be able to be solved while keeping the mass amounts of plugins we have. We have this same discussion EVERY time. I wish people would make the same effort to get real answers as to why some of our most active forum members have been banned that they make for issues that only pertain to themselves.

The staff of our community work hard, and they get no compensation, it's completely out of their love for this place. Keep a check on that mouth please.
Like you said. Staff is aware of the issues. So why give a bunch of pointless helpful critiquing if you already know what they are? That would be spamming the forums. We all keep hearing the same thing for months. "Staff is working on it and we know about the problems." But what I do not see is solutions. You say that players are being kept in the loop. But I have seen no updates on what is going on to fix the issues in the forums.

Could I suggest that if things are in the works to fix the issues that we are all having. Could staff please, please let us know by starting threads of their own on what is to be expected or what the status is on these fixes. We are all being left in the dark here.

As for Jared. Funny that you claim yourself to be the community. Because the community on agharta, the server I play on, is in agreement with me. And why should I be silenced? Is no one allowd to share their frustrations? I guess we should all follow Jareds example and be useless drones and let the masters tell us what we should do.

I and others have made several suggestions and inquiries on problems. But we hear nothing but. "We are working on it." Working on what? We know nothing as to what you are working on.

Zionia,

I am not trying to insult any of the staff members. I am sure they all have their respective areas that they are suppose to be working on. But it is not a shame if those that are dropping the ball will admit it when they need help. Not everyone is perfect. And I would like to thank you if you are doing all that you can. I understand if there is only so much you can do. But at least you try.

We aren't trying to cause a riot, we are simply unable to play the game properly. I like the family in this server and don't want to leave it. Zionia, if you have ideas that could help lag, you need to share. Members of agharta are experiencing lag major lag.

how is it that Rom can have 1500+ chests in storage, but as soon as we make 400 or so, we cant use them....its not just drifter, its me too and it not just when we are at home base.

I will do some research on some plugins to lessen lag. I will encourage emtdrifter to do the same, though we don't have a plugin list of which we are currently running.

As Emtdrifter stated, we have put $100 in this server each, myself 24.11 days on this server of play time in a short time, Emtdrifter 13.37 days--he started same time as me...

Jared, as ive never ever seen you other than acting like u own the server on our posts, why don't you come to agharta and build something that you cant use and tell us how it feels? I'm building a transit system , but its faster to walk then ride a minecart. for example.... Until then, Jared, don't take part of communication on agharta server for things that you haven't experienced first hand---thanks.
The community consists of more than the 10 players that play on Agharta 24/7. The community is me, you, Zio, and everyone else who happens to share opinions with me that making threads about this doesn't help. I suggest you turn to the other lag threads to get the straight answer that you don't seem to understand from Zio. It's not as simple as changing some variables and decreasing this, adding more of that, installing mob limiters and clear lag. The *essential* problem with all of the lag is in Minecraft. Minecraft is a horribly messy pile of code, in the programming aspect, and the sooner you understand that, the sooner you'll see the real problem, like the staff do.

I'm not suggesting that you can't share your frustrations, I'm just trying to give you the hint that complaining about the issues and degrading the staff as you did in your original post is not the right way to handle this if you want it fixed. I disagree with quite a few decisions the staff have made, but I don't run them down for it, neither do others.

And about the drone comment, I suggest you go read my post a little bit closer for details.

First hand? I've been here for nearly two years, and there are a few like Ron and Adam who have been here far longer that don't whine about it. I'm not trying to sound condescending by saying that, but I've been here long enough to know first hand about the problems. I have built many things (mainly on classic), that would be great if lag was non-existent, but it just doesn't work that way. No, I haven't been very active on Agharta, but I poured countless months into the classic server, where the lag was indeed bad also. When you have a such a large server, there will be problems, you're not able to make everyone happy. It seems that we see one of these threads every month, and many times it includes someone thinking that it's the staff's fault, because the OP believes them to be lazy, not knowledgeable enough, too busy, etc. All I'm trying to tell you guys is that there are some people out there that get tired of bickering and griping about lag. It's obviously not getting anything done. If you want to make suggestions about the issues, I'm sure that those are more than welcome. In fact, it's been stated in one of the past lag whining threads that they are welcome. Just don't blast the staff members and throw your donation ranks around because of problems that you only know the tip of the iceberg about.

Oh, and FYI - Minecarts are going to seem laggy on any server, that's not just Minetown.
Well you just admired that the 'problems' have been around for 2 years, and haven't been fixed..doesn't give me much hope.
So what you are trying to say is that this problem has been around sense you started? And you are trying to tell me that it is being worked on? How is a problem that has been around that long being worked on? You would think it would have been taken care of by now. You talk about people coming and going every couple of months complaining about it. Well news flash. Players might think about staying if it would get fixed in the first place. If it is not the staff. Than what is it. Because there are a lot of other servers out there that have no lag. How did they get it right and this one can't? can you explain that? I am not here to bash anyone person. I am just voicing my frustrations.
What use do you actually think your complaining serves? Everyone here already knows about the issue. Not only have you not offered a single solution, but you have also shown several times that you don't understand what the real underlying problem is that causes the lag (even though it has been explained not only in this thread, but countless others) and you started off by wrongly and unfairly badmouthing staff for something that the vast majority of them have zero control over.

You say you don't want to spam the forums. This thread is nothing BUT spam for the exact reasons I just gave. I would go on, but Zio and Jared have already made the points I was going to, and you've already chosen to ignore them, so I wont waste my time on it.
