Don't ever...EVER...suggest a mac for a gaming computer. They aren't made for it and they're terrible at it, and you can get an extremely superior computer for the same or less money.

I dare you to find a solid aluminum computer with the exact same specs as a Macbook Pro for less money.

And they aren't terrible for gaming. My Macbook with INTEGRATED GRAPHICS runs Minecraft, TF2, Portal 2, Garry's Mod, and League of Legends just fine.

First off, all but one of those games have pretty low system requirements. You can run Minecraft, TF2 and Garry's Mod on just about any piece of junk out there and they can't really be used to judge a gaming computer. League of Legends has higher requirements, but it's still not even remotely high-end.

Secondly, unless you are irresponsible and abusive towards your property, you don't need a solid aluminum computer; it's a bogus selling point that adds nothing to the quality of the product. I have had 3 Asus laptops, and all of them have been very solidly built and durable for a laptop. Aluminum is also an extremely inexpensive material, so using that as a justification for extra cost can go out the window.

But as for the same or better specs for less money, look at the Asus G75vw. Its has better specs than the cheapest 15" Macbook pro I could find, and is still $400 cheaper. A Macbook pro that matches or beats this laptop would run you a MINIMUM of $600 more, most of them are over $800 more expensive than this one. Oh yeah, and it has a bigger screen, too. And that was after about a 3 minute google search. I'm willing to bet there are plenty of others that would be a better value as well. The ONLY advantage to buying a Macbook over another (as far as gaming is concerned) is that you get higher screen resolution IF you spend even MORE money on one with retina display. Worth it? Not even a little. Macbooks are not made for gaming, plain and simple. If you want to do serious video editing and that kind of thing, I hear they're the way to go. But if you want to play high-end games, you're quite literally throwing your money away if you buy a Macbook.
Mac's are good for one thing and PC's are good for another thing, we can all agree on that.

This is however a laptop suggestion thread, not a ''PC vs Mac'' thread, and PLEASE let it stay a laptop suggestion thread.

We've seen threads like this turning into a ''this is better than that hate thread'' before and we don't want to see it again :/

I know this sounds a little annoying, but it's sad to see threads being locked because of flame wars, and it won't really help PkmnMewTwo with his problem <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>
Customize this guy to your liking. http://www.gentechpc.com/config.asp?config_id=Asus-G55VW-DH71

I would...

Change the processor to this: 3rd Gen Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7-3840QM, 2.8~3.8GHz, 22nm, 8MB, 45W

change the Hard Drive to this: 750GB 7200rpm 2.5-inch 9.5mm 16MB SATA II 3Gb/s (special promotion)

This will beat the mac. even though i used most of the 2k budget. but if you have the money, and want to spend it on this computer, why not use it.

Also your not stuck with Mac os and its limitations, as some games are not playable on a mac.

Um... from the price of the G75vw that I see on Amazon, it's only $200 less than a 15 inch Macbook Pro.

And while the G75vw is a "laptop," it would be quite cumbersome to carry around. The thing weighs almost 9 pounds.

But whatever. You get the computer you like, I'll get the computer I like. Poke can get whatever computer HE likes.
Gaming aside, my opinion is that the best quality laptops out there right now are Toshiba and Asus laptops, and I'm not too fond of toshiba.. Asus is good for gaming, and it's what I'd go with if you're dead-set on getting a laptop. Also, Alienware can be overpriced, especially for their laptops. For gaming, a desktop is best, more bang for your buck, and it can always be ugraded... Laptops are very restrictive on upgrades and such.
