something has to happen....speaking with the community and getting a gauge on their wants and needs is driving what actions I take...you are honesly the only one up in arms about ANY change barney...almost everyone wants something to happen to some degree or another...I will do my best to make it as fair as possible, but some of it is dependant on plugin relations and how to improve our server to allow the one thing holding main2 back (which is a shared inv with main). I may throw up a poll on the main post im doing but I am asking ppl to voice their opinions and suggestions on it so I can actually read reasons...polls aren't always the best solution when there are so many options and factors to be looked at. IDK where you studied economics, but you are blindsiding yourself to many factors and only looking at it from the here and now narrow window...
I don't understand what needs fixed excluding some moderation on the amount of living things at EXP farms.

I work in the market every day and the economy is fine. Am I overlooking something here?

I have not had much lag since the living Wither farms stopped being popular and upgrade issues got worked out.

I don't play on Main2 and see no reason to link the economy. Would it not be more fun to start fresh than to start rich? I think linking economies is dangerous for both servers, and will only carry over existing problems. A fresh server should not have to risk inflation/deflation based on another server where folks have been accumulating riches for 2 years.

I am totally against bringing Gold back as a currency - ever. Gold has a ton of uses and I see no valid reason to allow our gold stockpiles to be turned into more diamonds or more MTC. What purpose would having multiple currencies serve? Spending MTC drives votes because MTC is generated by voting. Gold is useful without being a currency - I do not understand how using it as a currency could be helpful in any way.

I can see that Gold has "some" practical use's, but that being said, IF gold were to be exchangeable for diamonds at a rate equal to, or less than it's naturally occurring ratio when mining, it shouldn't pose any additional threat to the economy. IMHO

I pretty much agree that a separate economy between the main servers is a desired thing, this would allow challenges in the BOP between the newer players and the veterans with years of accumulated wealth.

Just my 02.
If gold ends up turning into diamond we should make the rate much higher ( 5-20 gold bars = 1 diamond)

I can not understand the benefit of allowing gold to be turned into diamonds - even if it would not effect the diamond market or economy. We have to many diamonds, recently extreme measures have been taken buyback / burn them. I can think of a lot of disadvantages to a gold>diamond exchange and tons of other great uses for gold (fireworks, night vision potions, gold apples, gold carrots, gold decor, iron decor, powered rails, clocks, upcoming weighted pressure plates, etc) - but I can't pinpoint a single reason for Gold to be considered an official currency.
i sort of agree with od, i really dont see a problem with the economy right now...

i dont want gold to come back as people who farmed the gold with the spawners, still have that gold...

what i think should also be considered, and ik this sounds silly, would to make mtc the only currency?

remove diamonds and iron as they have other uses and can be obtained by mining. you cannot mine coins irl...

but then work on the mtc, make mtc more accurate by adding decimal 100.99? then reduce the amount of credits given by voting as thats an infinite souce of alot of income... yes we want people to vote, but the current rewards are a bit over the top and are a factor in the mtc value problems.

i think we should leave ss in the server. but implement a limiter, not like the current one as they wont let anything spawn but so only x amount of mobs can spawn from a spawner, and untill they are killed the spawner wont spawn anymore. i dont know how difficult this would be to code, but if it worked i think that would be better than removing ss. ss gives the player more freedom and makes a market out of spawners.

btw, i take back what i said before in this thread, i went a bit too far :/ srry.
When spawners became available some people wrapped up most of their resources into obtaining them. For instance I have 2+ cow, 1 mooshroom, 1 chiicken, 1 wolf, 1 linx, 1 slime, 1 enderman, 1 villager, 36 blaze, 30 skeletion, 5 pig, 1 sheep, 40 zombie, 1 creeper and 2 pigman spawners. My skeleton spawners in the nether is where I make most of my mtc. A switch from spawners would be most painful. No income stream, no xp farming, no free resources. There is also the work involved in creating the xp traps(the two large structures on top at warp mirai). Roughly half a years worth of farming and trading would be down the drain. Players entrenched in spawners such as myself may start screaming at the very mention of removing them because of the effort involved in obtaining them and the benefits they provide.

As for gold... once it became farmable, it became to common and lop-sided to be used as a currency(some people have a printing press, most do not.). I suggested removing the gold/diamond exchange a long time ago(check my posts).
Also, anyone owning an xp farm is going to be screaming over this(myself included as I have 2). There are also players who paid to have a membership to xp farms. Who pays for the refunds?
here is two things i must add first

add CLAG (clear lag) it will reduce the spawner's build up (people will sure complain about lost dropped items being eaten by it (o well life rolls on)

second you cant just remove diamonds from currency minetown is based on the barter system and that's not going to change people can barter diamonds all they want the only means of slowing it down is to stop all bank transfers. and if you wanted to get real dirty block diamonds in signshop's (this would cause yet another outrage)
I'm totally with barney, I have a lot of money In spanners, like 80% of My mtc assets are in spawners, and now their pretty much useless, this limiter will only make their value drop EVEN FURTHER. If you want to fix the dying economy, put the lottery back in, and make some sort of gambling, so players lose some of their huge amounts of mtc, and reduce the amount of mtc you get from voting, and I hate to say it, but a tax on goods would help the economy. Most players don't realize, we are getting close to a depression, one we may not recover from, prices on everything is dropping. And spawners, being. Very expensive and valuable item, limiting them will make their worth drop massively.
