[Enjin Archive] Combat Clock plugin regarding the main server

Ok. I want to keep this simple.

I personally think that the PvP clock plugin should not be added. Only reason being, that the main is not specifically "PvP" it's optional, its not like your going to be doing 20 PvP battles with different people on the main. If you want PvP then go to a actual PvP server.

It can't be that hard to file a report to mods if a player is logging out during PvP.

First of all, I dont find pvp being optional to be relevant to whether or not people should or should not be stopped from not being penalized for logging off while their combat clock is ticking.

Also, in the end and nether, which is where I had to deal with people logging off while their combat clock is ticking, pvp is not optional. It is enforced.

And it IS hard to file a report to the mods. No staff members have even replied to both of my previous threads regarding this problem.

also, regardless of whether or not pvp is the MAIN objective of the main server, it is a feature nonetheless. And seeing as how we have a plugin that allows pvp to be toggled on and off, and also the combat clock, we stil care about pvping. And I believe what I am suggesting betters the pvping feature of the main server.

And I dont want to go into details, but am not a great fan of the pvp server as it is at the moment.

ok..

So I think you are missing the point that the main is not PvP oriented. A lot of your threads that you have started have to do with the PvP on the main. To me, it seems like you are treating the main as a PvP server. Remember, that the toggling of PvP on and off, is just a little "here, go have fun in a battle!" not a "I'm on here all the time for PvP, who want's to fight?"

Remember, that PvP is a toggle. If you don't like how PvP is just a side thing, then like I said before, find a PvP server to play on that suits your needs.

Also, "in the end and nether, which is where I had to deal with people logging off while their combat clock is ticking, pvp is not optional. It is enforced." is not at all true. PvP in the nether/end is not "enforced" you are not forced to go in there and PvP. PvP is still optional, by you saying "i don't want to PvP". I have been in the nether plenty of times, and saw someone in full diamond armor, looking at me, i said he, he said hi, and we both went on our ways. It's not like every where you go your going to get attacked.

again. I just think that PvP isn't really a main aspect of the main, and that it is fine the way it is. If a player runs from you during PvP, or logs out, then that's that. I mean, what were you going to get out of it? maybe some enchanted armor? or enchanted weapons that you could easily acquire?

Main: to enjoy the survival aspect of minecraft with perks

pvp: to kill everyone.

Also, i know a lot of people arn't big "fans" of the MT PvP server at the moment, but i know that if you talk to mrbaconbitts, he has a few minetown factions on some very large PvP servers. with a lot of MT players. :)
Or instead of moving servers, just hold your breath somewhat longer.

The new additions to the MT PvP server will be great!
Like madster said, the main server is not a pvp server. Just because pvp is always turned on in the end or nether does not mean people are obligated to stay and fight you if you attack them, and doesnt mean they are there to pvp. And again, if you want to pvp that much, go to a pvp oriented server because thats not what this is.
People are obligated to be within the danger of being attacked in the end or nether. Or else it would not be an enforced pvp zone. They are risking being subject to pvp in order to gain valuables resources that can only be gained in the end and nether.

And I strongly agree that people are not obligated to "stay and fight". If they manage to run down their combat clock by physically running away in-game after getting hit the first time, I believe that they should have the right to run away.

However, people being able to log off while their combat clock is ticking considerably takes away the "risk factor" of being in the end or nether. Unless it is decided that the end and nether should be a zone where pvp can be toggled on and off, I believe, even within outside my standards, what I said still stands.

And regardless of all of this, I believe the act of logging off during a fight is a cheap move. But then again, we all have our difference of opinion....

Also, I am completely aware that the pvp is not the main focus of the main server. And contrary to what many people may believe, I spend a fair amount of my time building things or gathering resources. And because the minetown main server supports both pvping and also safely building, I choose to stay on the main server. And I especially like how the scarcity of the valuable resources that can be obtained in the end and nether is somewhat implemented in the non-pvp enforced areas of the main server.

And also, I believe that the dummy plugin would be an improvement in the pvp system we have on the main server.

This may be because of my lack of understanding in programming, but would it be too much trouble to introduce the plugin we have on our pvp server to the main server? what sorts of clashes would their be with preexisting plugins?
"I believe, even within outside my standards" -> I believe, even outside my standards*
