[Enjin Archive] Combat Clock plugin regarding the main server
Started by [E] antonyoo

Can the plugin used in the pvp server, where a "dummy" replaces the person that logs off while the person's combat clock is still ticking, be implemented in the main server too? thanks.
antonyoo, the main server is not intended for PVP anymore, its more of a survival, economy, social and debation server.

If you would like to PVP the minetown pvp server is still up and running, if theres issues with PVP in main its because the staff have other things to worry about, like the new worlds and the next update since many plugins on MT might stop working.

Also that 'dummy' plugin could cause lag especially when you have large PVP competitions with NPCs running around everywhere of the many minetowners who rage quit.
Aye Antonyoo.

Come play the PvP server!

There's a lot of new cool stuff being implemented in the near future.

There's a spot in Rebels if you wanna be active on the PVP server Antonyoo ;D
hmmmmmmmm.... I just might do that. Pvp on the main server has been fairly dead for a looooooooong time, and now that im almost done taking down xp farms in the end, i dont have much left to do...

If they are too busy now, then I could understand the implementation of this plugin being delayed. However once the staff do have time, I believe that this should be implemented.

Although the main server is not MAINLY for pvp, pvp still goes on. And its not like the server has given up on doing anything about pvp. For example the combat clock was made to prevent people from trying to hit someone once and then warp away or teleport away. And the dummy plugin mentioned above will be an improvement over the hard work that has already been put into the pvp related aspects of the server.

Also, you talked about lag during large competitions. However, this "logging off while your combat clock is ticking" happens mostly, if not only, during small fights such as 1v1 fights when noone else is watching. And as a person who has had to deal with people doing this multiple times, I can tell you that it ruins pvping, especially when I have to wait for the person to log back in, and also when I fail to hit the person due to lag and the person manages to warp away. It completely negates the efforts put into making the combat clock.
Dont forget the donation errors that might occur, remember that high donors get the chance to keep their stuff when they die, that NPC might not count as a PVP death when you kill it, most of the people that you might PVP are usually high donors, if not they are people who can not afford the proper amount of tools which means an easy kill anyways.

The donator problem has been solved because of the combat clock, I think. I have never had a problem with donators not dropping their items when being killed after the combat clock has been implemented.
Ok. I want to keep this simple.

I personally think that the PvP clock plugin should not be added. Only reason being, that the main is not specifically "PvP" it's optional, its not like your going to be doing 20 PvP battles with different people on the main. If you want PvP then go to a actual PvP server.

It can't be that hard to file a report to mods if a player is logging out during PvP.
