acording to google, error 503 basically means the minecraft servers are down. Dont worry, it happens occasionaly, Im having the same problem, I was just about to make my own thread about it but you beat me to it. It shoudnt take too long, few hours maybye, longer if its a major problem. But you wont forever not be able to play multiplayer!

Mojang took down the authentication server due to a bug that allowed the hacking of migrated accounts. You may have noticed the 100 block wide glass sphere through spawn?
Either way, you will not be able to log into ANY server until the issue is resolved on Mojang's end. Plus the server is restarting in 2 minutes, so everyone go to bed because MC has already done so

Alright lemme explain easily.
1- Minecraft has authentification servers for profiles.
2- It got hacked and people could log in as any profile.
3- Mojang shut down these servers, making it impossible to play multiplayer if you aren't already logged into a server.
