[Enjin Archive] What house options would you like?
Started by Unknown User

Hey guys

I am building a new town and I just need to get and idea of what you would like to see in these houses

This is a modern town, lots of technology inside the buildings like things poping out of the floor and walls then folding away after use, piston stuff mainly

So I want to make these houses sorta custom. So I will make an app form when town is built for options

Like

Do you want a pool, fireplace, farm etc

Colour of house?

Garden style/theme?

Storage space?

General size?

No. Of floors?

Stuff like that

I just need more opinions so can you post your ideas for options to customise the houses here

I will edit the post to include ideas already being used

IDEAS ARE....

Colour of house

Size

Pre furnished?

Garden?

Garden type?

Pool?

House style/layout

Storage?

Storage size?

Farm?

Lighting method?

General facilities e.g. Enchanting table or furnace lab

Glass or glass pains for windows?

If you're doing modern, a must have is redstone circuitry. Try enabling a lighting fixture for entire rooms/floors from one lever. Nick's Northspawn House is a good example.

Since these are modern, instead of a farm try a terris or a small yard with trees and flowers. Farms with a modern house would clash. rural and urban are too different to be combined especially in Minecraft with limited resources.

If you want to include something pool-like, try making a pentagonal tub in the bathroom, imitating a whirlpool tup.

Include a study with enchantment tables, a kitchen with an array of furnaces, an iron door + Dispenser fridge and some tables and chairs, and a den. Good decor options would be to make a 'TV' with obsidian/lava, a 'Fish Tank' Made of ice, and some chests placed for convenient use and a 'home sweet home' feel.

Main materials I would use are Iron Blocks. A cheaper alternative will be Stone, Stone brick, Stone Slab, Clay blocks, Wool of assorted shades, or Nether Brick.

Also Barney, if you are still doing the Roman town, I'd love to help with construction!

Roman houses often included a garden, a water-table ish in the bathroom, fountians outdoors, terracotta tile roofs, and a adobe-like exterior. Here are some refrence pages you may like describing the household of different social classes in aincent rome.

I personally think the best houses you can get are the ones you build yourself, i find that moving into a pre-built house is not the same. however I agree with Pokemon that Redstone is a must. Flowers would also be a good decorative idea.
Yeah

I am developing a way so no need for lever but if ur in the room they turn auto

As for the roman town, I dunno what I am gonnamdo about that as I has a think and I realised that roman only allowed the general town to be good but the houses would be a bit boring to live in

Where as the modern the general town has less to it in the way of builds such as temples

But it allows the houses to be more interesting to live in. With all the redstone and stuff

I think I will do the modern first, bear In mind it isn't going to be a flattened area, but have houses built into hill sides and not next to each other, this modern town is going to be high end and expensive

After I make this I can start the roman one.
Houses are really more about what they look like from the outside to draw peoples attention. Concentrate on that aspect before the gimmicky stuff on the inside.
lol coff you dont do inside stuff at all hahaha <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f600.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":d">:d</object>
Hey 8x8 haven't seen u for a long time

Anyway

Coffey the houses will look great and modern on the outside, but seeing as they are custom built, you carnt see it before you order it, of coarse you can ask for alterations on the final build or just ask for a new one cos you don't like it and I will sell that to someone else. But you will be inside the house most of the time, so make the inside the best. Then do outside.

And gimmicky stuff isn't going to be inside, gimmicky stuff is for cheap houses

This Isnt going to be gimmicky! The technology will make it a nice place to live instead of the static, boring interior of convential houses

These are gonna be high end homes. Quite expensive. Great quality outside and in.

And Coffeey, if you do think it is more important to have a good looking house and a bad inside than a good inside and a bad exterior, you obviously are mistaken... I don't know how you can think that really

I will take it as a typo <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f61b.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":p">:p</object>
Keep em ideas commin people

Got a great idea for a pool

It disappears then reappears with water and all, just at a push of a button!

Excuse me those weren't the words I used at all. And it wasn't a typo.... I'm just saying that if you have a town, and the houses are ugly as hell but the interiors are nice, nobody will buy it. If the exterior of the house is gorgeous and the interior is bad, then at least it will grab people's attention long enough to make them come over and look at the house. It makes much more sense than having an ugly ass house with a cool interior.

Besides it's always much easier to change an interior than an exterior.
To tell you the truth im getting very tired of modern homes... i want to see something new and creative, all the big citys and small citys in minetown are modern and i would actually buy a house in one of them if there was something new and creative about it
