[Enjin Archive] Minetown Buildtown
Started by [E] Sayomie

I have just gotten a Build Craft / Industrial Craft server up and running and need players to beta test it " bc.minetown.net " This server will require you to have a moded client to play on it and due to copyright issues I can not provide one for you. As such below are instructions to modding your client.

  1. Make sure you have a clean copy of Minecraft, if you have a modded client back it up and start with a fresh copy off Minecraft.
  2. Open your minecraft.jar ( %appdata% --> .minecraft --> bin --> minecraftf.jar ) It is a zip jar and you will need a program like winrar to open it
  3. Delete the META-INF folder in your minecraft.jar
  4. Download the mods that will go into the minecraft.jar
  5. Open the zip files for the mods you just downloaded
  6. Drag and drop the contents of the zips into your minecraftf.jar
  7. Run Minecraft to allow it to generate a mods folder and some configs
  8. Download the mods that will be going into the mods folder
  9. Drag and drop all of the mods to the mods folder except for smart moving
  10. Open the smart moving zip and drag and drop the Smart Moving Client for ModLoader.zip to the mods folder
  11. Your new client is now set up and you should be able to log into the server now <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>
Ps if you don't know what any of these mods are and how to use them, we will be setting up a guide on how to get started. Until then I recommend that you google the mods and go through their wiki's. Also if you want to learn one of the mods, in my opinion, industrial craft is the best one to start on.
I am having a problem with red power packages 34567

Get item id conflicting with some other mod I have

Is it ok if I use tekkit?

It has all of those one but afew more aswell

If I can get the mods working then I would be happy to help!
As stated at the start you need to have a clean install of Minecraft. Tekkit might work but the mod version might be wrong. Its worth checking though.
I'll get on with a vid for you sayomie <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>
Nice will help alot to have a proper starting video for ppl who have not used the mods before <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>
I don't have a mic but i'll make it as clear as I can which files do what and so on.
At the moment anyway i think i'm going to order one toady.
I was gonna wipe my .jar anyway, get id resolver and patch some texture packs for mods

Plus try and get all the mods working again

One problem sayomie

Smart movement isn't allowed on main server so u would need to uninstall it every time you want to change

You really need to uninstall it or make some way of differentiating between spam bots and smart movements to make it legal on the main server

And I don't think Tekkit has smart movements, so I don't think it will work
My recommendation would be to use a launcher like http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1104030-launcher-sks-launcher-v315-easily-install-mods-update-mc-open-source/ This will allow you to have multiple clients at different locations on your computer. This way you can have the Minetown main and the buildtown clients at the same time w/o having to constantly switch them.
