griefers are slippery basterds, they find ways to do things that you would never think possible. lack of a thought process makes griefers unpredictable lol. honestly its less work for everyone to just make a pe to get the signs removed. the time it takes a mod/helper to get to the pe and remove the signs, you wont be losing that much revenue.
Ive understood what lostbit has been saying since the start. they only people who would be able to destroy the signs are REGION owners, not any member or nonmember.
I really dont see how this is a bad idea. As was already said, the signs can only be broken by region owners, or if the shop is in an unprotected area. And honestly, why would you even consider making a shop in an unprotected area unless you actually enjoy being griefed? So, with the exception of times when the protections plugin breaks, griefing is a complete non-issue if this were to be implemented.

Also if this is true, then it seems to me (keep in mind I have zero knowledge of coding and stuff like that) like this could be a reasonably simple thing to do.

an issue with the signs is that the coding can be a bit complex...we can put aside griefing from other ppk thatn region members, but one issue with signs that is always difficult to code out is that if anyone 'breaks' a sign, the text is deleted before WG realizes that they arent allowed to..and now you just have a bunch of blank signs in your shop that you have to compoletely redo

Well for me the complex coding and support associate with such a thing is enough to turn this idea down....
However, about the sign blanking. Are you sure this is not the same *local* glitch we see when breaking *any* sign in a protected region?
I mean if this is the case this is just a local glitch and the sign will still be filled. Only the player that broke the sign will see it blank untill he logs again.
