You could setup a filter to filter out specific url's and ip addresses from being displayed in chat. Don't make it a "kickbot", just simply don't allow said url's and ip's to display at all.

There would be a whitelist of url's " class="bbcode_url" title="http://www.youtube.com/]" data-safe-url="https://redirect.enjin.com/n/18e947f1e6">www.youtube.com/], which would allow for those addresses to be displayed when entered into the chat box.

Maybe straight ip addresses should be banned all together? Who actually uses them when advertising the server, anyway? Just exempt the ip of the guest server, as well as the main, from this rule, and we're good to go!

True this, I realise that advertising and spamming is an issue.

Problem is, it would be VERY hard to do, as www.minetown.net/promo is advertised a lot. There would have to be numerous exceptions added. However, a GOOD idea would be the plug-in to apply for guests only. This would prevent random people coming and doing this. Another thing to do would be to insert guests (new ones) straight into /warp gwspawn, as most come online then ask how they build, usually combining with OP to make "hi i am new can i have OP so i can bild".

Yeah, I feel your pain, but it would bring about some possibly unexpected bans.

Is anyone actually fully supportive of this? Because I could make it, but I doubt it would be of much use. How often does this happen anyways? I don't go on much, because I program, but if its that much of a bother, I could code up a plugin.
