What kind of events would you specialize in?: I specialize in races, speed builds, PVP, etc.

What ideas do you have for future events (Give details and features you will use)?: Firework build for New Years. Each participant would have a given amount of time to build the best firework show they can build. There will be a sign that gives the player specific items that you will need for this event. I will use WorldGuard to set the selected flags such as PVP, mob-spawning, ice-melting, etc to deny. This event area will be built by using WE (WorldEdit). The winner of this event will be rewarded a given prize.

Have you ever participated (in) or ran any official/unofficial events? Please tell us what you did and how it went: I have before but sadly I cannot explain it as I can't remember it. All I remember was that it was on Minetown and a different server.

Do you have any experience hosting events?: Yes, but as I said before I cannot explain it as I can't remember it.

Tell us about your experience in some of the plugins we use (WorldEdit, WorldGuard, CraftBook, ServerSigns, ToggleableAreas etc.): I'm pretty experienced with WorldEdit and WorldGuard. As for the others that are listed in the question, I would need a little help with.

What do you think the hardest part of making and hosting events is?: I think the hardest part of making and hosting events would be the fence parkour because you would have to go step-by-step to make sure the fence is at the perfect position for the player.

Why do you think you are a better person than other applicants?: I think I am a better person than other applicants because I'm friendly, active, helpful, and fun but at the same time mature.

Why do you consider Event staff over Moderation staff?: I consider Event staff over Moderation staff because I love to create fun events that everyone can experience and have fun.

Run away:

A 2 wide and 3 high tunnel that people run down as the ground behind them starts removing itself the more the more they run the more quicker it gets till there is one person left standing! I'm working on this in a single player ATM i want there to be different layers so you tp to floor 2 witch is faster floor 3 and so on.

Jumper:

Like the dropped but where you are going up with a jumpboost and as you jump you must quickly move or a pressure plate will get activated and start counting down from 3 and when it hits 0 you will be tp back to the last checkpoint also there will be pressure plates like speed slowness instant damage and a few others.I got this idea from the dropper! <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f600.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":d">:d</object>

PVP Event:

You start off in teams of 4 and you have around 15mins to complete tons of complex puzzles each puzzle will reward you with stuff to help you and your team pvp. After the 15mins are up all teams are to the middle to pvp and depending on the amount of puzzles they completed meaning there odds at winning!

Getting players under control, i find when i'm about to start my event there is one nub who does the exact opposite of what iv asked of them ;p

I also find putting my ideas into action tricky.

How many hours per week do you play (average)? How long have you been in Minetown?: How much i play depends on my mood but i'd say around 10-50 per week. I've been playing minetown for a little over 2 and a half years but i signed up for the forums 2 years ago.

What kind of events would you specialize in?: Long events aren't really my thing, but neither are events that are too quick. I always like putting a twist on some old favorite, for example turning your average spleef game into a "Who can survive the longest" style game with falling mobs, bonuses and different tools to help with the snow. Overall I would specialize in original, and competitive and teamwork based games. With the occasional old favorite here and there. Oh and also some pvp events every once in a while. What ideas do you have for future events (Give details and features you will use)?: Well currently i was working with Mischy, Sovora, and Masterjack to make one of my event ideas official. It was a betting based game. There was a large gravel platform with wool holding it under.On top, sheep of all colors. Players would bet on the sheep, then the wool would start burning. Whomever's sheep lasted the longest was the winner. There would also be some player involvement, such as giving player snowballs, and the such.

Another idea i came up with recently would be called "King Me". All players start in a randomly generated world area (closed off at some point) and one player would be named "King". Said king would choose from a list of tasks that the rest of the players, or the peasants, are to do. Whomever would complete the task first and go tell the king, would get a win and an advantage for the next task. Whomever gets 3 wins first is crowned king, and the former king becomes a peasant. The most points wins! (A crowing is 1 point extra)

A final idea would be something more fast. We all know the childhood game, pickup sticks. Well this is pickup steaks! A small area with players and from above, dispensers shooting out mobs of all kinds, including cows. The goal is to pic up as many raw beef as you can, without getting killed by the mobs that fall down. All are equipped with a sword and a healing potion

Too many complications with the time zones. Other than that, i've been in a couple unofficial events. Namely a few by a3modz2 when classic was main and main was popular. Just your basic search for this, or spleef. Do you have any experience hosting events?: As i stated, i did run an unofficial one that didnt end well, other than that i did run a quick build on a small local server. It had about 15-20 people. I had help of some friends whom were mods on the server. Other than that, no.

Tell us about your experience in some of the plugins we use (WorldEdit, WorldGuard, CraftBook, ServerSigns, ToggleableAreas etc.): Being completely honest, i have little. I know somethings here and there in World Edit, but other than that, sadly no. But don't get me wrong, i'm a fast learner.

What do you think the hardest part of making and hosting events is?: Organizing and building. Keeping the event that's already running stable and going is a hard job within itself, but organizing them to have proper times for people from all over the world is another very difficult part. Build the whole event itself then putting all the protections and plugins so the event evens runs properly is hard as well. But i am ready for that responsibility.

Why do you think you are a better person than other applicants?: Though my younger age may make it seem i'm not responsible or mature enough for this this position, i'm ready. My determination is better than most. Even when i have no ideas, and it seems i'm on the edge of losing the position, i will still try my best to support the server. Even if i fail to get the position i will still try my best to help the server.

Why do you consider Event staff over Moderation staff?: Moderation staff need skills, determination, and commitment to the server. I'm not saying Even staff is any easier, or i don't qualify for Moderation, but i enjoy the creativity and imagination Event staff are able to put into their job. Also making minetown a more fun and enjoyable place is a noble cause.

Quick! Think outside the box! Now what?!: 2 teams, a large lake, waterbreathing potions, and blindness affect. Each team starts on differejnt sides of the lake and have to dive into the lake to find various objects such as a golden apple or a diamond. Once they have the item they are to bring it back and place it in an isolated chest and then they are assigned a new item. You are allowed to kill member of the other team but you may NOT take their items. If items that were not assigned to the team are in their chest, they lose a point. The amount of points varies on the item(Ex:Diamond - 3 points. Leather - 1 Point). Finally you may use any items you find in any way you like

I am a bit more mature then a regular 13 year old, I am in the National J. Honors Society and help out with the concession stand at local football games. How many hours per week do you play (average)? How long have you been in Minetown?: Recently I'd say 30+ and I've been here over 3 years

Do you have any close friends in Minetown?: Yes, Ron and some of the "old crowd" like Irethena, Darth Android, Kosa... to be honest a lost of my old friends haven't been on for a while. That's part of the reason I want to give back actually, so we can be more active and I can make a good place for people to make new friends and forge connections.

What kind of events would you specialize in?: I have given away a lot of money doing trivia (heh) but I would ideally like to hold in-game raffles and to hold even more Hunger Games type events and of course, that old standard... spleef!

What ideas do you have for future events (Give details and features you will use)?: Well, spleef obviously, but I would also like to hold scavenger events would would also hold the purpose of encouraging people to explore and review spawn itself. Another fun event idea would be Halo style capture-the-flag style events with team heads, and capture-the-head events based on teams. Late night events would encourage new people to get credits and stay on the server as well, so later hours events would be a lot of fun.

Have you ever participated (in) or ran any official/unofficial events? Please tell us what you did and how it went: I did old trivia events and raffle events on the Reddit servers and I've held spleef events before. Spleef was by far the most popular but really, I like the scavenger events best.

I'd not really say I had an event go poorly, but some have gone better than others. Usually the start and end of the events (deciding the winners and dealing with complaints) are where the real troubles come in. As long as no one takes sides everything tends to go well.

Tell us about your experience in some of the plugins we use (WorldEdit, WorldGuard, CraftBook, ServerSigns, ToggleableAreas etc.): World Edit and world guard are essential for Spleef and the commands are simple to use. Server Signs I've used in game and Toggleable Areas I don't have much experience with. I'm willing to learn though. In Minecraft, everything can be learned!

What do you think the hardest part of making and hosting events is?: Getting everyone in the same place at once and then getting them to start at once. Why do you think you are a better person than other applicants?: Well, I've been here a while and I don't want to mess anything up. I am available on mic, I have a history of helping new players, I'm mature enough not to grief or take sides, and I have some great ideas to make events more popular and for them to take place at a greater variety of times during the weekday nights and weekend nights.

Why do you consider Event staff over Moderation staff?: Honestly, I would like to do Mod too, but that's neither here nor there.

When I do trivia or invite people into unofficial events, people participate and enjoy it. I think we have a real need for more active events and greater competitive events to tie the server together and to encourage people to get together and play together. Right now the server is kind of spread out and sometimes it's nice to draw people in and keep them coming back.

I love Minecraft and Mine Town is the only server i play on. I have many friends within the community and am trying to be more and more active with the forums.

What time of day would you be most available to run events? (Please also specify a timezone): Approximately 16:00-1:00 GMT is my 'sweet spot' for being online and thus hosting events.

How many hours per week do you play (average)? How long have you been in Minetown?: With regards to the first question, approximately 45 hours a week. I have been a member of Minetown since December 2011, so just over two years.

Do you have any close friends in Minetown?: I would consider Ronvandorp and MyNameIsNeil among my closest friends, but I'm also rather fond of Pljz, Huntress54, dteandy, Leronzadok, JessicaRabit, EliteCatalyst and sceva.

What kind of events would you specialize in?: My events often toy with the thought process, and as such the majoirty of my events are ones where you have to think. However, I try to take this to a slightly higher degree, taking 'traditional' concepts, and tweaking them. Such examples would include a maze that allows you to travel up and down as well, or riddles that involve allowing the player to control redstone to achieve an objective. Rarely do my events involve PvP.

What ideas do you have for future events (Give details and features you will use)?: Beyond the two mentioned above, I would also be looking into a large platforming-based event, using Craftbook signs to apply jump boost in a certain area.

Another concept planned was a haystack (extremely large) made of hay bales, with chests with needles iron swords in them. Another twist would be mobs would spawn, WITH iron swords, and you had to kill the mobs to obtain the 'needles. Person with the most needles would win. This could be also done with Craftbook signs, using the wireless redstone function to trigger a dropper and a dispenser.

Furthermore I had a plan for a castle defence based event, wherein groups of four players would work together to obtain an enemy team's wool. Serversigns could be used to remove a certain colour of wool from the player, at which point command would be sent to trigger redstone that would blow up that teams castle.

Have you ever participated (in) or ran any official/unofficial events? Please tell us what you did and how it went: I have participated in quite a few events, my favourite being the pixelart build contests. I have however ran my own unofficial events. My initial event, Soloplay, was a series of challenges but with an extreme and unforgiving learning curve. I ran approximately thirty unique players through this event, but many complained of the difficulty.

With this knowledge, I went on to develop a second event, Think. My design plan for Think was similar to that of Soloplay; a series of challenges designed to be hard enough to entertain the player, but not so difficult it became frustrating. The initial stage, a platform jumper, was well received despite a somewhat evil jump right at the end, but it's the second stage, the labrynth, that really shined.

With the help of Stealthm23, I dug out a large space and filled it with jail cells. Upon completion, I proceeded to 'grief' the area, creating a simulated ruined jail. During the 'griefing', I designed it in such a way that it caused a winding path up, down, to the sides, everywhere. This maze became infamous during it's time, seeing over sixty unique players, including at least ten staff (all of whom cheated at some point, ahem), and three Ent+ staff, all of whom recommended me to apply for Ent.

After seeing this particular section of the event, MyNameIsNeil asked me to build an insanely huge version of such a labrynth; I was authorised by ModernDragoness to be given Creative in this matter, and with it I set to work on a gargantuan, complex, themed maze. Although incomplete, this maze can be shown if necessary, and I even tried it myself many months later, getting lost several times in my own maze.

Soloplay can be found on the Classic server at /warp Soloplay, but for a more enjoyable experience I would visit /warp think.

Do you have any experience hosting events?:I have spent many an hour hosting Think and Soloplay, and as such, yes.

Tell us about your experience in some of the plugins we use (WorldEdit, WorldGuard, CraftBook, ServerSigns, ToggleableAreas etc.): During a brief break, I visited a friends' server, where I had to use WE(which I have extensive experience with), WG, & CB to form events. I created two events with these, as well as a series of 'easter eggs' all over spawn town. The two events were the trampoline platformer mentioned above, and also a 'blind' precarious maze treasure hunt, both of which I would LOVE to recreate on Minetown, as both were extremely well received by guests. One of the easter eggs I mentioned involved a series of buttons over the town, which when pushed would fire fireworks, and give an extremely powerful buff or debuff for a short time, such as jump boost, or speed, or nausea, etc.

I've read up on serversigns in the past attempting to create something wonderful, and am fairly familiar with them. Anything I'm unsure of can of course be looked up in a flash. I have no experience as of yet with ToggleableAreas, but the information is one search away and sounds excellent.

What do you think the hardest part of making and hosting events is?:For me, it's coming up with an original concept. Sure, it's easy to run spleef or the basic parkour, but there's a certain joy out of seeing people derive happiness out of your own little obscure twist. Personally I've never had problems with players 'trolling' in events, as I usually try to safeguard for that as much as possible, nor have I had problems obtaining people to actually try the events out; everyone is usually very keen.

Why do you think you are a better person than other applicants?: I wouldn't necessarily say a better 'person'. I would consider myself a better entertainer than most as it's one of my skills in real life too; I entertain, I make people laugh, but also I have a deep understanding of player psychology, and often use this to really add interesting tweaks to my events. I'm a fairly creative person, and am always thinking about doing some project or other. This seguing nicely into my next point - projects. If I have a project in Minecraft, I'm always thinking about it; improving it, tweaking it, adding functionality, aesthetics, and so on. I'm dedicated to making sure it turns out fabulous, and to that end the events will be treated to a very high standard, and refined many times.

Why do you consider Event staff over Moderation staff?: As a matter of fact, I would not. I consider both positions equally appealing as helping players would give me great pleasure as well as giving me something to do that I enjoy. However, multiple staff recommended me for the Ent position, and I feel I would shine brightest there. I would however happily accept the position of Moderator.

Quick! Think outside the box! Now what?!: Teleporting mazes! 'Saw' in Minecraft! Cities built for treasure hunts! Mob tower defence! A 2D maze enabled with jump boost! (I actually really like the idea of that last one...)

Tell us about yourself!: I'm a student studying Architecture (somewhat appropriate for one who plays Minecraft) with a deep knowledge of redstone. I've been with the server for a couple of years now, and the community keeps bringing me back every time. I'm a bit of a sadist, in the sense that I love to confuse people with the things that I design, but I also love seeing them overcome that confusion and succeed. I specialise in farms and mobtraps, much to the dismay of the server boxes, as I usually adopt a 'Going to do it, do it right' policy and build it as large as is practically possible.

I'm rather fond of strategy games, and often also play Civ V, League of Legends, and Faster than Light. I also have over five years experience in MMO's, at one point becoming a leading community force in a Wikia-based clan, which i thoroughly enjoyed.
