Why? Giant oceans are awful and jungles/deserts transitioning directly into tundras/taigas are also awful. For all practical purposes, when on a server anyway, having the map divided into continents with giant oceans between is generally just plain awful. None of the new map generation stuff (that I have seen so far) seem to do anything but improve things.

I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I for one, cannot stand giant oceans separating continents, I think it discourages adventurism, which is one of the reasons I got into minecraft way back when. I am glad you have the option to lesson the bodies of water that generate.
