It's been a while since I've been able to play with you guys and I miss you. It's also been a while since anyone has actually posted the name of the version of ftb you are running or even the IP. I'd just like to know if anyone gets on it anymore and if I can even get on it considering no one has posted on this forum section for a few months. I figured that if you guys cancelled this whole ftb test project you would post here why it is no longer viable. Hope somebody replies, although it might be a while before I check back.
Right now any development on the FTB server is waiting on the release of a 1.6.2 version. Once that has been released we plan to push forward a official full release server as soon as possible.
Here is a comprehensive list of all current mods that are updated.
http://modlist.mcf.li/latest/
Match those with the FTB Ultimate PRE packs mods. (yes...slow is still a diehard for RP2 GROW UP ALREADY SLOW)
http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/forums/mod-pack-changelogs.62/
That sums up pretty much what mods they are waiting for to update. Also in conjunction to this. Because the FTB launcher uses MultiMC mechanics to work seeing as it is a wrapper. They require multimc to update to MultiMC 5 not MultiMC 4 as noted here at the devs website.
http://forkk.net/
Otherwise 1.6.2 modpack via launcher are not possible until any of the launchers become 1.6 compatible. Magic Launcher does not count for this btw. It doesn't support native modpacks like FTB etc etc do. Its only a hack and slash launcher meant for the beginning mod user.

well good luck. considering mojang comes out with a new version of minecraft every week i dont think you actually can have a modpack, much less a server dedicated to one, that will be the same version as the current version of minecraft. I miss tekkit back in 1.2.5.
RIP FTB
Upon my return to the server, I will push for the FTB server to be up ASAP. Hopefully we can have an FTB again soon, cause it was really fun! <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f61b.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":p">:p</object>

Errrmmmm what are you smoking??? It took Mojnag several months to make 1.6.2 happen. In fact it took them exactly 4 months to make 1.6 happen after 1.5. It took mojang 6 months to update MC to 1.5 from 1.4.2.
What you call updates my good man are what we call developer snapshots. These snapshots are not full fledged updates. They never will be considered as such because they are not fully worked additions to MC. They are things the developers threw into MC and ask you to play with to find bugs and shit for them.
In the MC modding universe there is Forge
Forge's developers unlike Mojang does in fact actually release weekly if not almost daily updates to forge. It takes the forge devs maybe at most 3-4 sometimes a week to upgrade the MC class files for their modding API.
The only reason FTB is stalled right now is because a lot of mods. Mainly mods that Slowpoke loves with a passion are not at 1.6 compatibility right now. However if you read news or even considered visiting the official IRC's for certain mods. You would immediately learn that some modpacks are not upgrading to 1.6 just yet. FTB is focusing more on 1.5.2. The reason for this is because there is still a lot of bugs mojang didn't fix in 1.6.2 that still persist in 1.5.2. So the most you ever really get in 1.6.2 is resource packs, sprite texture changes, coal block, hardened clay, stained clay, hay bail, leads, horse armor, nametags, horses. Thats it thats all they really put in. A lot of this stuff can already be added with mods using 1.5.2.
This is why most modpacks are always 1 to 2 versions behind a MC full release. Its just not practical to update immediately to the new shit.
FTB is going to be just like tekkit i can basicly promise you that. Redpower isn't updating so FTB won't. there's no point in waiting. because i will likely never happen.

Actually Slow has moved forward somewhat away from RP. he started using Immibis Microblocks and his RedLogic mod. The only mod people bitch and moan about the most is WRS-CBE mod. Chickenbones is strictly adamant he will not update the mod till Eloraam updates RP. There is currently now Redstone in Motions (Frames) and Another modder has begun recreating Redpowers Lighting, logic, wiring, and machines. All mods are WIP state. But are semi-functional.
You want a laugh? Forgecraft server actually banned the use of RP2 tubes because of the lag they cause. It turns out the TE or Tile-Entity that makes up RP2's tubes requests so much attention from the server when in use. It lags like hell. Put it this way, hoppers are constantly always ticking always stealing ticks from the servers clock. Tubes are always ticking but at a alarmingly high rate. Nearly x2 that of a hopper. Hoppers only tick when they are activated and when items are moving in them. Tubes are always on due to their advanced logic systems of how tubes work.
Anyway heres the mods currently trying to break the dependency on RP2
Redstone in Motion (Frames)

Immibis stab at Redpower Logic

have you also seen forge multipart i beleve it will make a nice addition especially if could be used with microblocks it could bring back a revolution of ttl back to MC eeek!
