Currently working on a build, there's a few nice builds around and I really need to up my game if I want to get into the Top 3.. Not many people did this event so im going to extend it another two weeks to try and get more builds

While a tad biased his statement is. It is only logical. The build team is BT because they were pre-selected by MT staff. They are trusted with creative mode and such. Normal players are not given such chances. So it would be unfair to say the least if a BT member participated. Let normal players have a chance to get a build design some light. The BT have enough time and power to build something as a team in the Main server.
