Ok, what I had to do is Delete The WHOLE .mincraft folder and reinstall using the downloaded link Sawine gave you. It works on XP Pro, and Home x64. Hope this helps.

PS.... Back up saved files before!!!

Ok...

browse to %appdata%

delete the .minecraft folder

go to www.minecraft.net, download the game again.

Run the game once, close it

go to %appdata% again

open .minecraft/bin

delete minecraft.jar and replace it with the download given on minetown.net

reopen your game and you should be good.

it says done loading but once again its stoping a centimeter before the end of the loading bar

Did you install any mods ?

browse to %appdata%

then to .minecraft/bin

right click minecraft.jar , open with winrar

Delete the folder called META-INF

Should work.

i dont have mincraft.jar the one i downloaded from the link said it was .jar but it was just minecraft

it states failed to load main-class manifest attribute from

C;\user\roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar
