I know I know... Theres been millions of threads about this topic already but still I find iconomy to be a very popular mod with many plugins that would be beneficial for Our server's economy. I understand why some might disagree because our server promotes free trade much like a semi currency/bartering mix. I do believe this system works very well but is very complicated in a way. I say this because it is pretty hard for new players and even experienced players to find fair prices because they must constantly check forums or ask friends. I know some people that have taken advantage of this free trade system and made much profit from it (not saying names <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f61b.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":p">:p</object>). Again, I'm not posting this to troll but I just feel like this mod has a lot of potential and the plug ins for this mod that I saw on bukkit could be beneficial for both admins and players (region protection thing, localized shop thing, npcsprit, etc.) I know iconomy might be a complicated mod and would take some time adjusting but I think it shows a lot of potential for the server's economic side. Can we just try and give it a chance? I'm sure taking it out if it doesnt meet standards would be fairly simple for sawine as well as putting it in. Please reply about your thoughts. ya i agree with gatschet i like the free trade the only problem is that i am worried i am getting ripped off some of the time

I prefer an open market system like the one that is currently in place.

Although you can occasionally get ripped off, it gives the participants in a trade room for bargaining and keeps the economy as a whole healthier as it sways with supply and demand.

iConomy would make a few problems though, it would screw up the free trade system though its an honor system i can just imagine there would be a few problems with it, also because of the settings on iconomy are complicated and take a long time to set it up, (----> has iconomy) I believe it was the admin that changed the script to the prices as i remember i used to do

Sawine did try iConomy for a few hours once i think. At least it was something very similar to it. It wasn't really overall accepted. plus it was taken advantage of fairly quickly. Our free trade system can sometimes be unfair BUT no one is forcing anything. Supply and demand is the way the real world works. It also works on minetown. just because glass or whatever isn't worth a bunch of diamonds to one person doesn't mean it's not to someone else. The free trade system works well people get what they want and it's also more realistic. I think we should keep it the way it is. iConomy also makes less social interaction which is lame.

And doesnt iconomy use really annoying signs to sell everything and commands noone really knows. So enjoy explaining it to everyone every 5 seconds.

What we have now is good, don't fix what aint broke. Plus we'll have NPC shops before long so...
