Hey,
Im getting a bit annoyed at all the persons saying "lag".
Im convinced that most of the times the lags are not from our server.
You can verify if its from your connection easily by doing the following:
On windows:
You should then see something like this:
If your average ms is under 100, you should be fine.
Around 200 is tolerable, over than that you will get lags.
You can also trace the route to the server, to determine if the lag is really from your connection or from an internet relay on the way to the server.
use this command : " tracert mc.minetown.net "
It will show the ping of all the relay on the way to the server. If one of these have a really high ping, it will affect your connection. There is no solution to fix a laggy relay. You can only wait and hope it get fixed.
Hope this thread can help few of you.
Cya.
EDIT: FOR MAC USERS
Open up the search panel (command+spacebar) and search for Terminal.
Open up Terminal and Type: ping mc.minetown.net
There you have the screen. like this
Pretty much the same EXACT thing, but I thought since some people know absoutly nothing bout computers and didnt know about Terminal, I would do it. Sawine you can move the mac one, but I thought It would be good to edit this.
