I Think a new use for gold would be nice like say make it as strong as iron in tools and/or armor. i love wearing gold armor.

My solution to this problem is simple: if you don't find gold to be of any use to you, stop mining it, sell it to someone who will use it, or throw it in lava.

or you can auction it. I think it could go for a tad bit of MTC. but mind you you can make golden carrots and such, so you can mine and make profit off of it.
