[Enjin Archive] Invisibility Potion: Glitch Discovery
Started by [E] Idellechi

While doing some research on the new mobs, I discovered a glitch with the new Invisibility Splash Potion. When certain mobs are hit with the Invisibility Potion, parts of them will still be visible. This happens because only the mob skin itself turns invisible, and not any extra sprites that may be attatched to it.

This glitch occurs with:

Mobs that have a separate skin attached, example: Mooshroom Mushrooms and Sheep Wool

Mobs that have glowing eye sprites, example: Spiders and Endermen

Taking this research into account, it makes mobs much easier to find. It also may help you find players who are under the invisibility potion because they will give off light blue, swirly particles occasionally. Keep this in mind while fighting mobs, although it's unlikely you'll use a Splash Potion of Invisibility around them.

--( Edit )--

The invisibility potion's effect on Players as Entities

Similar to the Skeleton and other armed mobs, when players are under the Invisibility effect, their held items will be shown and they will give off light-blue particles.

the items in the hands of players and armor was intended to show so the potions wouldnt be overpowered

True, but I'm sure the glowing eyes and extra sprites showing weren't intended.
I used to play a game in that invisibility worked like that to allow anonymous killing. (it was a PVP game)

Nice research you did there <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>
I actually like these "glitches".

It also limits the power of these potions. Imagine getting attacked by something totally invisible. You wouldn't know what direction to hit and most likely die.
Most of these glitches were intended in the update, especially armor and weapons.

If someone is invisible and hitting you, thy would have to do it by hand in order to not be seen. They also have to be wearing nothing....so if they pull out a sword and you see them...then you can kill him quicker than you can say bang
I know, I know, i'm just pointing it out for certian mobs, since it's highly unlikely that you'll ever use Splash Invisibility around them ^^;

I think the coolest thing about this glitch is it lets you see the glowing eyes for the spiders.
