Minecraft is in metric, true, but dont divide the world in kilometers because it is about 3-4km big lol.

Also, i think walls are up to you. Just dont build walls where you dont have anything builded. If you build walls, the city within them must be builded.

And also, If you want to have protection over your walls, make em straight, because I wont go and take 60 minutes to protect walls. ... and im not even sure if ill protect some walls yet.

The city of Espero has adopted this proposal and has built 2-block high wall aroudn the entire land of Espero.

I think walls can be built if you want, but you don't have to have them, it ca be a city decision.
