[Enjin Archive] Server Port Forwarding - "Connection Refused - Connect"
Started by [E] Osmosis

Hey, I'm hoping somebody here can help. Preferably one of the techy admins or neildotp... <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f61b.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":p">:p</object>

I've set up a server from home, just to test a few things out. I've gone into my router settings, and port-forwarded 25565, both incoming and outgoing, and put the correct IPv4 address (I've double checked a million times). Whilst I can obviously connect through localhost, I still get the error: "Failed to connect to the server. Connection refused: Connect." when I try to connect using my external IP.

I'm pretty sure this error is related to the router firewall, but I've opened the ports. When I use a port checker, they also show that the port is closed. I don't know how, the external IP address I used has been correct, as have the ports.

The ISP I am using is Sky, and the modem is a NetGear DG934G. A lot of users seem to have this problem with Sky. Can anyone help me out?

Try this^
I forgot to say INB4 portforward.com <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/2639.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":(">:(</object> Tried it a million times.
I'm not very good with all of this, but I'll say that on mine, since I'm hosting it on my computer, I need to forward my computer's local IP with the port 25565, not just the router.
Oh?

Same on mine.

The computer that is hosting it, has the public and private IPs. you need to portforward your computer's IP.
How does one go about doing this?
Not entirely sure, my modem was much simpler. Looking at this link...

... in the Firewall settings, when it says "Send to LAN Server:" I would put your private, local IP address. That may or may not be correct but give it a shot.

Edit: This page has a video. It appears to be made my your ISP. Seems legit.
Only gave me instructions on what I already did :/
