Do you have any mods installed on your client?
If yes:
Remove the jar with the clients, and run minecraft, it should generate a clean, updated jar.
if no:
Then when you open minecraft dont push play, but push options, then click force update. This may help your problem.
If you have any virus firewalls, make sure they are not blocking anything from minecraft. As this has caused tons of players in the past to have the same thing happen to them.
