Hey guys I'm joey_dev. I'm an Apple Developer and I'm learning to develop apps. I'm working on one right now for Minetown. However when you make an App and you deliver it to the App Store you must have a name of some sort. Either being your real name or a company name. I want to put out a company name. I don't want it to be anything todo with minecraft at all. Here are some popular names that app companies have used.

Illusion Labs.

Zeptolab (People who made Cut the Rope)

Rovio Mobile (People who made Angry Birds)

Smule

Pandora

Callaway - Arts & Entertainment

And many more...

I am a developer who wants to make All kind of apps from games to utilities and so forth. I want my name to be 1 word and have alot of meaning to it. Weather its a foreign word or whatever. It has to be easy to say and memorable. Also I want to be able to get a domain name for it.

I know from experience that you can only put a company name if it's a legitimate company. By that, I mean recognized by the government. Unless that rule has changed, the name that will appear will be your full name. Naming your company is going to be a difficult thing for someone else to do. Your asking for something meaningful but everyone has a different view of what is and what isn't. It would probably be best to start with something you would find meaningful or important. As I know nothing about you outside of this community, which is Minecraft based, I find it hard to come up with suggestions. I have some questions that may help steer this conversation to the right direction:

Do you have any plans for more apps? What purpose will they serve?

What hobbies do you have or what do you do in your spare time?

What is your favorite food?

What was your favorite subject in high school?

Do you know any other languages than (I'm guessing here) Objective-C?

Anyway, sorry for the poking and prodding, just trying to have some Joey_dev insight

You can base it off of something in your hometown. Look at Cisco's name and logo.

What hobbies do you have or what do you do in your spare time? Talk to people, play on my computer. (Not necessarily minecraft but just kind of fiddling around.) Praying. Going outside and just observing my surroundings. Doing still photography and videos.

What is your favorite food? Pizza and Cheese Burgers hhmmmm

What was your favorite subject in high school? Economics

Do you know any other languages than (I'm guessing here) Objective-C? Java, Objective-C and HTML

Anyways, I thought you had to give a company name when creating the Dev account? You definitely do now!

One suggestion I have is Saintly Studios, however I just looked that up on Google and it looks like that could already be a company

Umm when you create a dev account you can choose to do a company name as your account or as a single person. The point of the company account is that if you need your team of devs to be able to have access to your account without them having to buy there own. When you get ready to release an app on the app store in a single user account you can put in a company name or you can put in your name. I suppose I'll just do my name. But I would like to have a website with a company name at least.

I have been keeping up with the WWDC and it's really nice. It's not the same without Steve though.
