I recently installed GLSL Shaders mod and whenever I go to spawn, my client freeze and I have to force close it. My computer is powerful enough to support the mod, so I'm confused on how to fix it. I've also noticed that patches will flicker in the distance and its quite annoying. Any helpful tips?
I would try uninstalling the mod, force update the client, and then reinstall the mod. also, double check that you don't need any additional mods, such as optifine, to run the shader mod. goodluck and I hope this helps.
The flashing patches is also a side effect i noticed with some of the optifine versions. Ensure that you are using the baseline optifine and not one of the "multithreading" or other optimized versions: this fixed the flicker problem.
I noticed the freezing problem when i had some java updates due, maybe updating Java and increasing the Java memory (google increase java memory minecraft) might help too.
With the shaders mod I also noticed that it is very sensitive to the order in which the supporting mods are installed.. I removed shaders cuz of my own lagging performance but if I remember right it was: 1) ModLoader 2) Optifine 3) Shaders
keep in mind too that installing anything else can make conflicts, so
Shaders can't be loaded with magicLoader, so this added level of manual installation increases its sensitivity.
To help your troubleshooting I suggest making a copy of minecraft folder, then if you are troubleshooting you can just delete minecraft - copy from backup and rename, rather than reinstalling.
Good luck, and let us know what worked for you

seems switching to the standerd Optifine rather than the multicore one fixed my issues. i dont use modloader so it wasnt really an issue with the order of installation. anywho everything is in working order now, thanks for the help!
