You Guys Can Have The Field... And If You Want the Castles Removed... I Can Help Destroy Them... But 1 Of them Is Actually Pretty Neat... lol Either Way... It Doesn't Matter...
If one of the castles is good then it would probably be a shame to destroy it, I would be fine with us just building one new castle, because then we would have the pre-cleared field and one pre-built castle, but we would still be able to make our own castle. So it's kind of a win-win situation, less work overall, but still the feel that it is slightly customised to our event!

It is all completely up to destroyertheminer though! What is your IGN btw destroyer?
already have the scales of this just need to get an arena and such...

EDIT: doing my own because... again... already have the scales of the castles and such... take notes from mine if you want... prob better because then yours can improve from seeing mine:D

ok then tkt send me the warp to ur arena so i can look at it and if we need to destroy 1 castle and make a better one then fine by me it means less work and we could us less workers then so put warp in and u can still help design new castle if we must.
this is really my best castle only just started on the creative side of minecraft but allways willing to change it
ok well death i will keep this castle in mind caus eim a go see tkt's castles then decide.

Looking on the gameplay side of things

It would make more sense to build two new castles then we can encorperate all the traps and requirements we need

What I think

For the first 10-20 mins each team is confined to an area around the castle And give them some mats each the same, to make wepons, bows and stuff, they can edit the castle to make it harder to get into, barricades and stuff

When both teams are finished start

I think there also should be classes

Like this

Archer, bow lots of arrows iron armour

Mage, potions no armour

Soldier, dia sword dia armour

Dog ranger, lots of bones, before start access to dog spawner together lots of dogs, they would have a bow to mark targets and the dogs would attack

Any other suggestions would be good
I agree with the classes Barney, however I'm not sure about the 1st 10 minutes to modify the castle, you could maybe give them a couple of minutes to sort out their tactics, and where they will go and to familiarise themselves with the castle and its traps etc.

For the classes though, using kits would't work because people could just get one of each kit, even if a timer was put on them. You could just get a mod to give each player the items depending on what class they opt for however that is a lot of hassle as well.

There is one plugin that I used when testing this idea on my server with my friends and it worked very well, it gives you options to create spawn/death points, a spectator area and lobby areas, where people select their classes. It also provides a class system where people can choose a class and they will get the items associated with that class, and if they want to switch, they can remove themselves from the current class and choose a different one, all by just clicking a sign. Then when the teams are ready the hit an iron block to "ready up" and when both teams have done this they get transported to the starting point, which is also customisable. Then the battle begins, if you wanted to hold the teams in the castles for a couple of minutes then some gates could just be put in place and lowered/highered with some simple redstone work!

Of course this would be up to Sawine and the Dev team whether they would be willing to install this plugin. I don't think it would clash with any current plugins, and there are only 2 permission nodes; one for the admins/staff to set all the spawn points etc, and one for the user so they can join the game!
