[Enjin Archive] Repair Equipment plugin?
Started by Unknown User

Ok, glitchs have been removed enchants are more rare less people selling for higher amounts.

Is there a way you could make a plugin that would repair your item if enchanted/unenchanted for a certain price?

I was thinking 1500 mtc which is worth about 50diamonds in mintown. But only repair for mtc.

The rarest enchant is probaly the silktouch pick and it sells for about 128-200d so 50d for repairing wouldnt be to bad on that + many more items that arent worth over a stack of diamonds so it would pretty much be just like buying them again.

But this would give people more motievation to vote for mintown to gain easy Mtc i think u could gain around 1500 mtc per day if u voted every 12 hrs

Just an idea i think it would be great

You can repair tools by combining them with same material tools. You will lose the enchant doing so. That is good enough. There is no need to have a plugin that does something that is already programmed into the game.
no im looking for plugin to repair enchanted tools so we can keep enchants
No. We are not implementing that kind of plugin. If you could do that, there would be no point in enchanting any other tools.
concur with irethena...if we did that the market value would drop as no one would need to worry about trying to get them anymore

well acctually their would be

Because as he said there would be a Credit price

so 1 the voting will go skyrising

2 Eventually the creds will run out and they need to buy new ones and stuff

3 some lazzy ppl who dont care bout voting will still buy and sell them

and 4 If its implented make it like higher credit price then the creds u get intotal from voting 1 day

Else it would be fcked up Dx
Donators have a /kit that gives them iron and diamond tools. A plugin to repair tools would make these kits pretty useless and also it would massively effect the market for the demand on enchanted items. They are rare and expansive for a reason.

Maybe we should give donators an enchanted tools kit? Where they get a medium enchanted sword once every two days or something?
There's a lot of economics that comes into SMP. That's why things like duping, for example, seriously affect the quality of gameplay for other players, no matter how little they may think the impact will be.

If this were to happen, suddenly tons of enchanted tools would flood the map, as none would break. Value would drop significantly as everyone would have so many.

That's inflation for you, make more money and the value of it drops. That's why I'm not too keen on the whole Credits thing as it's devalued the hell out of gold and diamonds, but I'll give it time and hopefully things will balance themselves out.

Nice idea though, Bigdawg <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f44d.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":thumb:">:thumb:</object>
TPrezzle... please use economical terms correctly. How is a decrease in price inflation? Inflation is the general RISE in price of goods and services. A decrease in value is what we call deflation. How does a balloon get bigger? We INFLATE it. Please, this is the third overall post by you where you've tried to say the same thing (you've posted on two other economical threads). I've corrected you on both, but please know that inflation and deflation are what they are and use them correctly. I don't want everyone to use the wrong words. There are many minors on this server, and I wish them to know the economy so that they can make it big one day, whether in Minetown or the real world. Just knowing the difference between inflation and deflation can actually make you a lot of money (once you know this you can start buying/selling stocks at a profit, that's how I go to university).

EDIT: Danni, good idea. One problem: it is SO easy to level. I killed 20 pigs, went from level 0 to 10 and almost to 11, just within 4 or 5 minutes. I don't see a use for enchanted items kit with how easy it is to make them. No offense, though, but it was a great idea, I'm just putting my opinion out there.
TPrezzle, credits have not devalued diamonds or gold at all. All that has happened is that the value of credits has gone up. I can still buy just as much for a stack of diamonds today as I could a month ago. Same with gold (roughly). However, because of credit-related changes, the credits have deflated (despite the generation of credits from voting), while diamonds and gold have remained steady. Credits should be inflating from the voting, but they are not because the value of credits is increasing so rapidly (from spawners and other similar market changes).

First, I don't think that we should have a repair plugin because of the balance difficulty, though if we did, it would have to be prohibitively expensive to not disrupt the market. Something used for very nice enchants only. And it would need to not run off of credits or diamonds-- the currency would need to be expierience itself. Would you repair a tool/item if it cost 75 experience levels? 100? Currently we get a random enchantment for 50 levels. Based on that, what is an appropriate cost for getting a specific, high-level enchantment?

Perhaps it's a sliding scale when you try to repair an item:

  • 50 exp levels = 100% chance to destroy the item, 0% to repair it
  • 100 exp levels = 0% chance to destroy the item, 100% chance to repair it
  • sliding scale between, so 75 levels = 50% chance to destroy, 50% chance to repair.

This allows you to repair that item that has a really, really awesome enchantment, but you have to *really* want to repair it.
