After updating my 2nd computer i was hit with the white text glitch! But when i fourm search for previous topics, none show up! Can someone please help me? Thanks!

Ok.. lol heres my theories that i hope can help:

1. Have you got any texture packs installed when you updated which change the appearance of the chat text (Font etc).

2. Did you have a texture pack installed when you updated that doesn't change appearance of chat.

Solution for 1+2: Delete texture packs from your texture pack folder in the .minecraft folder

3. Have you got any mods installed? Improved chat mod i'm wondering could it have an effect after updating.

4. Did you update your minecraft to 1.1 before minetown did and have to download someones .minecraft folder from the internet.

Just some theories though... hope they help

Yep- Number 4 is me. I ended up having to delete my .minecraft folder from Appdata and start again. COuld that have caused it?

Where did you get the .minecraft folder when you were downgrading?

I use this unofficial release of improved chat: http://www.mediafire.com/?wqp6ehh65buj78c and all the colors work for me.

Some other thread. But then it said out of date client so i completely uninstalled and reinstalled.

Since the server is 1.1 now its safe to update. Best you can do is delete your minecraft folder and download it again from the official site, update it and try again!

i would do a force update to see if that fixes the issue
