[Enjin Archive] Some music I'm working on
Started by [E] pink_wet_cat

Well I've been playing guitar for a few years now and have wanted to get writing songs with it, but I don't have the proper recording equipment for that as of yet so I figured I'd start dabbling in my other favorite type of music which is electronica/experimental/DnB (Amon Tobin, Four Tet, Boards of Canada)

I have a reverbnation account which can be found here and I plan to update it soon. Unfortunately the 2 songs up there aren't correctly produced because my hard drive recently crapped out on me, so you might want to slap an EQ on it or something. I might redo them at a later date... maybe. :snore:

In the meantime, here is something I've been working on since yesterday. This might not be everybody's cup of tea but I make music I enjoy listening to so give it an ear and let me know what you think!
It's um...well it sounds like something I'd be listening to in the background of anything from CSI to C&C haha xD I think it's pretty cool
Haha Ziminite... I guess I'll uh.... I'll take that as a compliment? Lol.
What sequencing software are you using?
Also, needs a hell of a lot of compression. Way too quiet, also EQ it a little more to bring out the brightness of the piano and glitch up the drums a little :d
Hey It sounds pretty cool pink. What software did you make it with?
TPrezzle/louiskc - I used Fruity Loops Studio for a DAW. For software I used Native Instruments Massive for most of the electronic stuff like the bass line and the beeps sweeps and the wobble. No sequencers used for this. For the occasional high pitched beeps I used SineSynth, for the drums I just used multiple drum samples and for the piano I used TruePiano's "Wide" preset with medium/soft dynamics. The background pad from the intro is from the "Synthetic Vortices" package.

Constructive criticism is always invited but I just started on that song yesterday and I usually save the compression for last. The piano is EQ'd but I'm not really going for a bright piano on this song. I want the drums to kind of dominate most of the track. I do plan on glitching the drums up occasionally once I have the base of the song layed out though. :) The songs on my reverbnation do need EQ and compression but my hard drive kicked the bucket before I had a chance to do that.
