In all honesty i do like mc.minetown.net its still easy to remember and its kinda of catchy.

mc.minetown.net is to me more simple than all of those you have listed, I believe it should stay the same

I'm kinda with RainofEvol, and I'm newer, so even though I'm not used to even the one we have now I still feel more comfortable with it. If it had to be one of those, minecraft.fm might be my choice...

An IP address is like a Web address. The mc.minetown.net IP is just a sub domain of the Minetown.net Domain. And, Domains have to include '.''s. So no, it isn't possible.
