I might sound stupid, but what's DDOS?

kind of. im not quite sure but i believe admins (not mods i used wrong word) MAy be able to log on at the minute. its likely that the server has been kept shut down temporarily so that mods/admins/etc can create a safeguard should this be attempted again.

so theres a chance the problem is no longer there, and that the reason we cannot access is protection is being placed <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f61b.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":p">:p</object>

i wish people would stop being so goddam jealous of our awesome server and let us play in peace lol

rite basically if its another ddos attack then what happens it the server is hit with mulitple servers/computers trying to log on at the same time thus causing what is known as denial of service in this case no-one can access the server and it causes the server to lag if you wna to call it that therefore people will show up as online when actual fact they are not. all we can do is wait for someone to get to the server an sort it out.

also the data center where the server is held as probaly cut the serves connection to the internet

but that is only what i guessing at this point

ddos - a form of denial of service. in laymans terms, imagine trying to fit 5000 gallons of water into your eggcup. The server cant cope, so in effect collapses.

Grr some people just need to get a life. I mean seriously go do something better with your time then atk a server. If you don't like minetown just go play somewhere else. Its just that simple. Hope my castle makes it through unharmed lol. in previous attacks it has had "we are currently under a ddos attack" banner.

but what wuld you rather, staff to spend their time fixing problem, or spend some of it making a pretty lil banner :/ if you go on mumble theres mods etc on there who'll tell you the situation.
