Thanks for the prompt reply! I had used the forum vice the pe because the wiki page said not to use a petition for claiming land. I've submitted a pe now though. Thanks again.

This is true, the wiki page for petitions states you should not use a petition for claiming land. Then we have these misleading and conflicting forum subcategories that further suggest this is the right way of doing things. I tend to agree with most things the owner and admins want, but I'm baffled as to why they insist to keep this subforum. My best guess was it could serve a purpose when a protection request was too complicated for a petition and that a sticky explaining that was never created.
