Anyone know how to farm ghasts?

With or without a spawner.

here is what you do, get some creds change a spawner to ghast and make a large cobble fortress in the nether ( only place ghasts spawn if im right ) ask a mod to protect that area then some where in the ghast cage you sit with a bow and arrow

Ghasts can spawn in the over world, rarely and around nether portals. Whether or not ghast spawner works in the over world is beyond me.

But won't the ghast sorta kill you?

To be honest, nobody knows if ghast spawners actually spawn them, in the nether or out.

Most people, however, settle with no, they don't spawn.

Therefore it's your own risk if you buy one and it doesn't work.

Ghasts cannot see through iron bars last time I checked. Also, last time I checked they couldn't blow up cobble or iron bars.

Iron bar+cobble room+Ghast spawner+ Peekhoole+Bow and arrow = Ghast trap.

Or

Ghast fireball+Excellent reflexes = Ghast trap.

Also, if it helps ghasts drown, but good luck getting into the nether with water.

Just use a water tile from CS

Is there any automatic way to farm them?

Does any one know for sure?
