Officially it may take up to 48hrs for your application to be reviewed by an Admin, however it usually doesn't take so long.

With the conversion to 1.0.0 the mods/Admins have more work than usual, so it may take a bit longer.

The portal to the guest world is under the giant tree at the spawn, and you can build things in there while you wait for your app. to be reviewed.

Anything in your inventory may be taken back out of the guest world with you, so don't feel you're simply wasting time if you mine in there, you can bring it all back out and use it in the main world.
