How many sand do u have to put in crafting tablle to make sandstone?

Also, What tool breaks sand the fastest?

And finally, What should i build with sandstone?

Diamond shovel might be a tad faster, but last much longer when gathering sand. Hopefully below the sand you will find sandstone and use a pick to gather it. It is fast but scarce.

Sandstone is good for making things like temples and desert-themed buildings, though
