The bank vaults are located in a specified location where they are all coherent in location. Getting to them is quite easy to be honest, it could have just been a log out, log back in situation where it puts him/her up a layer, or they could have used a hack client. Either way they knew what they were doing when they got in there so how they did it should not be a tolerable question.
