This is awesome! But I think they need to make water work better like that mod that makes water more realistic

so it would be possible to have something like the river temmes in London

What I'd love to see is a realistic landscape - plains that take an hour to walk over and seas so large that if you're not carefully navigating with a compass you will end up far from your destination... I think that would force me to just spend every minute of my time exploring!

It would be cool to save all the major cities and everyone's private homes and such, and start fresh on a new world, but the time needed for the admins to make a list of everything people want, find them all, and then move them to the new map, would outweigh the benefits. Also there are way to many underground structures for that to be possible, unless a huge amount of time was invested. But it would still be a cool idea.

Please do not turn this thread subject into "What will happen to the map on 1.8"

We will keep the current map whatever we will do. The main question is to know if it will remain the main world or not. Some map converters will probably be released in the future but it's impossible to tell now how good they will work.

A way or another, the time you invest on your building isn't wasted. The map will be kept as long as possible.

Although keep in mind that everything will be more awesome in 1.8. For example the switch from 128 height to 512 will be a major change.. and there will be many others... So it might be a good opportunity for some to start fresh again.

We'll decide when we get there.
